Not. Saturday: Burning Amp 2010! Fun. Indeed. Salt Peanuts Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Got up early enough to get groceries and make Japanese-style curry by 10am. The grocery store had decent amount of customers even though we were there at 7am. Just finished taking pictures of our daughter in her Halloween (pseudo)costume - she wasn't all that cooperative. I suspect taking children's portrait is a miserable job.
n_maher Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Painted trim for the 8 windows that are getting replaced this week. I can't wait as I sit here and type and can literally feel the wind blowing through one of the old windows.
morphsci Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Went to The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL today. Actually a good day to go, free admission and no crowds. Win! Just finished grilling some salmon, burgers and corn. Will be hitting the hood for treats in about 30 minutes.
Salt Peanuts Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Nate, are you replacing the windows yourself or did you hire a window replacement company? If you hired a company and if you don't mind me asking, whom did you choose?
tyrion Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Baked two of these. First pies I've ever made. Letting them cool for an hour before trying them out. Making a spatchcock chicken and a beer can chicken.
Grahame Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Who needs Cocktails when you can Grill?
n_maher Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Nate, are you replacing the windows yourself or did you hire a window replacement company? If you hired a company and if you don't mind me asking, whom did you choose? Definitely not doing it myself, anything that can cause leaks I pin on someone else. And I use a semi-local small contractor whose wife works with my wife. He did 8 for us 2 years ago (phase I) and they came out well so now it's time for phase II which will replace the remaining 8 junk windows that came with the house.
Voltron Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Grills + Cocktails = Win Ding Ding Ding!

luvdunhill Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 was planning on doing some speaker measurements, and somehow I can not find the microphone holder for my measurement mic. Looked for it for a few hours to no avail. Then tried to find a replacement one, and after being fustrated with trying to find one that had specs proving it would fit, just ordered the cheapest one on Ebay for a few bucks and hoping it will work. Gr.... at getting approval for some DIY time from the wife and not being able to find all the parts to do what I was hoping to do.
jinp6301 Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 planned to work on my bio presentation but instead watched movies, cooked, ate, slept, and did everything except work on my bio presentation
Salt Peanuts Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 planned to work on my bio presentation but instead watched movies, cooked, ate, slept, and did everything except work on my bio presentation I think you chose wisely.
Torpedo Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Yep, that's my usual way to manage stupid tasks which I don't give a damn to do. Remove cook from the equation, add some music listening, and that's it.
laxx Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Spent the day with my nieces. They aren't old enough to go trick or treating yet, but it was fun putting them in costume.
Grahame Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Had a walk in the autumnal (fall-like) afternoon sunshine. We set out intending to reward ourselves with a decent coffee, but ended up indulging in some House-made, all-natural, Straus organic base Ice cream from Woodlands Cafe, Kentfield, CA | Facebook. Joanne settled on salted caramel, I selected pomegranate, but we shared Then walked back, in time to go out for "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest", followed by our originally intended Coffee and Tea, paired with a bearclaw. Yum! Not a bad trick-or-treat free day
Dusty Chalk Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Spent as much time at home as possible.
Craig Sawyers Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Burning Amp 2010! Fun. Indeed. Is that Uncle Pass with the quest to use up the planet's supply of FETs?
Nebby Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Is that Uncle Pass with the quest to use up the planet's supply of FETs? Yup!
Salt Peanuts Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 Then walked back, in time to go out for "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest" How was it? While I liked the book well enough, I don't see it translating well onto big screen.
