I only moved 250 of the ~2500 records in my living room today, and even that took several hours. I had to first empty one of the my record shelves, make space for it in another room, then set it up and level it with shims (of the joys of owning an old hours.) It got sick of working inside, so I went out and did some limbing with my chainsaw. I nearly ran myself out of talent there at the end. I took out a couple tall but very thin trees, and one 25-footer wast attached to another ~35-40-footer by these nasty vines. I ended up with the top third of the tree I cut down swinging from the taller tree, which was leaning over ominously. Worse still, the whole damn thing was pointed in the general direction of the bay window in my liver room. Fortunately, I was able to hack off a few 5' pieces of the tree I cut, and drag the rest of it in the opposite direction of the house. Eventually the vines snapped, and both me and the bay window survived.

Being dyslexic, I make typos and other mistakes all the time. Especially when I'm tired and, uh, have recently endangered my own life. I usually proofread any post I make, twice. Plenty or errors still get through. Your mockery actually wasn't that un-funny, I've just been itching to use that graphic, and Mr. Baguette has been quiet today. That emoticon was appropriate after all...

Woke up with hangover, ate a panini and soup, laid around, drank good beer over at Dad's and ate burgers, watched a bad movie, currently listening to great music :)

Great Saturday.

Found out that my Friday morning Amazon free-for-all has resulted in my check card being declined. A single purchase from Amazon shows up as multiple small purchases on the card, so the bank is convinced there is fraudulent activity. I can appreciate the security measure, but not when I've spoken at length to the Bank on this very issue twice in the past.

Its frustrating, because the bank sends no notice to me about the card being declined; they simply let you figure it out on your own :palm:

And the items I buy are no longer available directly from Amazon themselves, thus the need to buy used from Amazon merchants.

I should very much like to have a check card that can be used frequently

went to syracuse mall, went to an awesome BBQ place near the mall called Dinosaur BBQ, ate too much hot sauce, drove back to school, realized that there was a state fair, went to the state fair, got disgusted at the huge amount of emo hs kids there, went home, complained about no internet until it started working again, posted about it on hc

Played some friendly poker with some new and old friends yesterday evening. It was a blast as I don't get to play poker all that often.

Today I just spent the day with the family. It was nice.

Took the baby in for a check up (all's well),

then soldered on the Pass Pearl Phono boards as far as I could go, considering there are missing parts.

Eh, I don't equate all gamblers to losers. It's fun if you can control yourself.

I guess its all relative, but a loss of a grand, to me, isn't very controlled. But hey, its your money!

I'm also not a fan of casinos, so I tend to view it in a negative light, so don't mind me.

Well, I guess I'd have to have a lot more $$ than I do now to blow a grand in one day and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Sure, you got some "entertainment" out of it but that's pretty expensive entertainment from where I sit.

That is why I'm not a fan. My total amount of money lost at a casino is $100, and I didn't enjoy a single moment of it. Terrible way to spend my money.

Yea, I understand that. I don't go often, something along the lines of under a handful of times a year. Moreso you win some and you lose some, and so far, I've only won until this past weekend. I also keep some cash at home which is just casino money (money I've won before) meant to be spent at the casino. In the long run (the few times I've gambled in the past two years), I'm still up, so I guess I don't really care that much this time.

I'm not a gambler normally, so this is pretty out of the ordinary for me, but I'm comfortable with the loss and won't be going back for awhile.

It also doesn't hurt that whenever I go, the gambler friends of mine pay for everything with their points (concerts, shows, meals, rooms, spa treatments), so I just chalked up this loss to paying for a few of the things we did on the weekend. I think I'd be alot more upset if all I did was gamble and lost money, but I'm taking the entire trip into account.
