Grahame Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 K, fine. All points noted. I'll try my very best to be less of a dipshit from now on. "Do, or do not. There is no try"
Hopstretch Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 "Do, or do not. There is no try" Although, try a taste of this, you ladies should. Like it you might!
LFF Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 Well - today my computer fucked up. I spent all day tryig to fix it. Turns out my new video card is dead (bought about 6 months ago). Replaced my barely used GeForce 7300GT AGP with an old GeForce 2mx AGP and that fixed it. Then I went with my wife to see my father-in-law and we went for dinner. Came back, got bummed by my crap-tastic graphics and wrote this. Yeah....I know....I need a new computer. EDIT: In the mean time - Anyone have an old AGP card they don't want anymore?
Hopstretch Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 Today I am off to brew a batch of beer, for the first time in ages. Think we're far enough into the summer to seriously consider doing an Oktoberfest.
grawk Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 It's too late to brew an octoberfest, not enough time for it to lager.
ingwe Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 went to work...late lunch at sweet tomatoes...came home...ripping cd's
Hopstretch Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 It's too late to brew an octoberfest, not enough time for it to lager. I didn't say I was going to do it properly!
guzziguy Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Finally hooked up the Linksys NAS200 I bought from Ian and am in the process of moving my itunes library from a removable disk to the NAS disk. Unfortunately, it looks like it will take 20 hours or so to complete the move.
en480c4 Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Ugh, got woken up @ 2 AM by both cats going bonkers. I was worried something f'd up may have been going on, so I went down from my loft and low and behold a bat had gotten in. You can imagine how much fun it was to get that out. The 16' ceiling meant I couldn't get near it and the small-ish windows being set back in dormers meant it was having trouble finding its way out. I finally got the cats locked in the bathroom and then was able to leave the door open and it eventually found its way out that way. Or at least I hope it did... I'd imagine the cats will let me know if it didn't! But now I need to settle back down so I can go back to sleep...
en480c4 Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Considering I was up from 2 am 'til 4:30 am or so, it wasn't so funny when the alarm went off this morning
n_maher Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Welcome to my world. Oh and on the home front I got 60% of another 2 beta22 boards done last night.
en480c4 Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Well, Sarfl'ack'tack-AIEEEE was defintiely not bored for about 45 minutes this morning. (Un)fortunately he/she/it may have been slightly damaged to his visit to the seacoast. I can take no responsiblity if the cats made contact or if I may have closed one of its wings in a window in a (failed) attempt to trap it. You may want to make an insurance claim regarding any damage in transit. I would be happy to meet with an inspector at his or her convinience.
swt61 Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 i'm sorry, Ian. that was a packet bat, sent out to the homes of all members to personally moderate their posts (apparently they haven't shown up at the houses of a few new members, yet). the packet bats are supposed to stay out of the way, i guess that one (his name is Snarfl'ack'tack-AIEEEE) had gotten bored. Oh that's what that was for. Too bad I was listening to Ozzy when the package arrived.
aardvark baguette Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Everyone send their packets back to headcase and packet-load it
aardvark baguette Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 It's a thankless job, but I've got a lot of karma to burn off.
Hopstretch Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Took a friend out to lunch at a newish French bistro downtown. Despite a location on Newbury St. -- aka. shitty restaurant row -- it was excellent, and not just because we drank two bottles of St. Emilion. La Voile, dew eet.
boomana Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 I've done nothing significant or meaningful today at all. It's glorious. Think I'll take a nap.
G-man Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 continued binge ecstatic over my alevel results. finished last day of work experience. read.
Voltron Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 I've done nothing significant or meaningful today at all. It's glorious. Think I'll take a nap. What are you, a cat?
Dusty Chalk Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 What are you, a cat?I had a similar thought. Cat would approve.
guzziguy Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 planning on getting fired, eh? Only after getting a job. I've been blissfully unemployed since December. How else would I have time to attend all these meets? Edit: Now that I'm actually looking again for a job, it's time to apply for unemployment.
Contrastique Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Worked today, nothing special. Came home, ate something. Started cooking some stuff for tha big party of tomorrow: Taboule. It's made of bulgur as the base ingredient, mixed with fresh basil, fresh parsley, fresh mint, feta cheese, sliced olives, olive oil, red peppers, garlic and pepper and salt of course. You can eat it hot, cold, whatever you prefer...yumyum
