Sherwood Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Man, these are rough days lately. Brent, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Fitz, your finger is lousy news, and Duggeh likely deserved it.
Pars Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 My condolences Brent. Sorry about the drill accident Fitz, hope it gets better quickly.
guzziguy Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Sorry about your loss Brent. Fitz, I hope that your finger heals well and quickly.
Duggeh Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 My condolences to you Brent. Fitz, bad luck
jinp6301 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 getting a headache. the low end screen on the Lenovo T500 (a screen i specifically told the person who bought this, not to buy) is a terrible. The low end screen sucks. The LED screens, on the other hand, are quite good
Beefy Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Passed the road test for my driver's license. I managed to stay on the right side of the road, and only turned on my windscreen wipers instead of my indicator twice Also started the process to sign up to a H1N1 vaccine trial, to fund headphone/DIY purchases

Also started the process to sign up to a H1N1 vaccine trial, to fund headphone/DIY purchases Been there, done that (true story)
MexicanDragon Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Thanks for the condolences, everyone. It's appreciated. **BRENT**
Pars Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 And glad you are OK duggeh! Sorry about the car.
Dusty Chalk Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 So far: I got woken up with a head massage. It was very pleasant.
Dusty Chalk Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 It was still a very pleasant way to start the day.
Aimless1 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Went to see my Glaucoma specialist. The pressure in my eyes shot up 10 points in the last 4 months. He confirmed the eye pressue is very high and immediately pefomed laser surgery on my right eye (the one with the highest pressure). A little gravely feeling at first and the right eye has been weepy since the surgery but that will stop. Some eye drops to aid the healing and in two weeks I get to do the left eye. Dang, this thread has become a bit of a downer lately.
The Monkey Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Eye stuff gives me the willies. I hope you feel better.
Sherwood Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Aimless -- move on out here to Denver. We have ways of dealing with glaucoma.
swt61 Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Today I received and setup my Logitech Harmony Remote. This thing is awesome, nothing like universal remotes I had back in the day. I had it configured and working flawlessly in minutes via the PC. I love the one touch activities buttons!
aardvark baguette Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 It was still a very pleasant way to start the day. I may get a kitteh. My family has a Jack Russell that, while great, is without a doubt the most high-maintenance, spoiled little strumpet that ever walked the face of the earth. I'd like the independence of a cat.
Dusty Chalk Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Get a kitten. Bobby is wonderfully low-maintenance -- even manages to amuse himself most of the day. And he's too young to know any other way of life than the one I provide him. (So, for example, he doesn't know that many cats don't like their bellies rubbed.) Oh, and it will help with the roach problem. It will play with them to death. The senior citizen is high-maintenance and spoiled, so just a warning -- they do get that way when they get older. But you will love them so much by then it won't matter, you'll be more than happy to continue to spoil them. And get a rescue. Just 'cause they're so many of them in the world.

Especially the rescue part. As dog owner as well I feel I should point out that if you raise it not to be spoiled dogs aren't spoiled/troublesome. They will provide you with a life full of unquestioning love.
aardvark baguette Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 it was impossible not to spoil her though. We have no resistance to her sweet charm.
Dreadhead Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 it was impossible not to spoil her though. We have no resistance to her sweet charm. Yeah. I'm a bit of a hard-ass so I manage too resist. When I'm away though my wife used to let the dog do all sorts of crap, she claims she (my wife) doesn't do that anymore. Our dog (Rugby) has been pretty well behaved for the last year or so.
Sherwood Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 My wife is the hard ass at our home. When she leaves, the dog gets spoiled like you would not believe. I will be a terrible father.
