Dreadhead Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Thanks. Even that small tidbit helped with my understanding Glad I could help even if it was by accident....
Dusty Chalk Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Because you are turning into the World's Tallest Oompa-Loompa from the head down? ...who appears to have stepped in some bleach. "What do you get when you...?" ...forget the rest of the words. It is at this point, that it almost always transitions into Heavy Horses by Jethro Tull. "...a reign of polished leather. A heavy horse and a tumbling sky...brewing heavy weather..."
The Monkey Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Advised Missus Monkey not to eat In-N-Out burgers before boarding her flight back from Phoenix. I think my work as an attorney is done for the day.
The Monkey Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Maybe it's just my stupid Irish stomach, but In-N-Out immediately prior to a cross-country flight is not necessarily the recipe for digestive comfort.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 I was thinking, "...'cause then she would miss In-n-Out when she got back to NY".
The Monkey Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Her response likely would be that ain't missin' much.
Augsburger Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Next time she travels to Phoenix I can refer her to a pretty nice Italian restaurant in Scottsdale with a sweet wine list, that may appeal to her.
tyrion Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Learned yesterday that my son got into Florida State University and was offered a scholarship. Now we have to until February to hear from University of Florida, which is his first choice.
The Monkey Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Next time she travels to Phoenix I can refer her to a pretty nice Italian restaurant in Scottsdale with a sweet wine list, that may appeal to her. That sounds cool. She could be traveling there with some frequency over the next few months, so suggestions are appreciated.
Voltron Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 That's very cool Mike. Bright kids pay off!
Aura Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 Finals week! Finished my 12 pager entitled The Transition of Guanxi: Foreign and Domestic Perspectives for my international management class due on Monday. Going to start on my 5-6 page take-home final for human resources management sometime tonight. Also have to study for management information systems final on Friday. Fuck yeah I love it. Congrats to your son Mike, he's going to love this shit too .
Craig Sawyers Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Is it me having a senior moment - or has there been a sort of mass change in people's avatars?
nattonrice Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Got stuck on a research problem only to later realize the answer was the Chinese remainder theorem of all fucking things. For a supposed category theorist I spend an ass load of time doing (elementary) classical algebra...
spritzer Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 I stumbled upon this at a local store: 1USD is about 115ISK so that is a very good deal... or not...
nattonrice Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Holy crap... I hope it was a mistake
aardvark baguette Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Its the ultimate in personal listening.
spritzer Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 No mistake, just the wonders of markup...
morphsci Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Congrats to your son Mike. Currently sitting in the waiting room for the service on our car to be finished. Did walk over to Friar Tucks and reserved a couple of bottles of Infinium that they just got in.
Craig Sawyers Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Got stuck on a research problem only to later realize the answer was the Chinese remainder theorem of all fucking things. For a supposed category theorist I spend an ass load of time doing (elementary) classical algebra... There was a time in a land far far away that I could have understood that - but looking up Chinese Remainder Theorem made me realise that too much water had passed under the bridge to understand the first damned thing. But number theory was never one of my strong suits - I was always much too much a mathematical physicist. Back when the earth was young.
