boomana
Nice, Ken. Oh, and about my fucking frugging foul language, I lost the bet, but I'm still going to try to clean things up. It bugs me. I think rude, abrasive, foul, colorful, offensive, and downright nasty language is not only important, but wonderful. I also think it loses it's value as a communication tool when it becomes a verbal tic.

It bugs me. I think rude, abrasive, foul, colorful, offensive, and downright nasty language is not only important, but wonderful. I also think it loses it's value as a communication tool when it becomes a verbal tic. It's a rich part of European language culture, which we shoud embrace, celebrate and frequently use. Try dipping into Chaucer, or Rabelais' "Gargantua" (where whole chapters are devoted to foul and offensive insults) for fine exceptionally rude literature from 14th - 16th centuries. Salt Peanuts
Trying my best not to get angry or annoyed at people. Items were turned into me for review/edit and when I went to see folks responsible for some questions, I was told the said items are actually not done/ready. Why did they turn them in if they're not done/ready, I've no idea.
Craig Sawyers
i always preferred Bakhtin's analysis to actually reading Rebelais. Yeah - Gargantua is pretty tough going. It is a long time since I read it, and never tried Bakhtin's book on Rabelais - maybe I ought to re-read it and then follow it up with Bakhtin. When next I feel in the mood for a little light reading
Craig Sawyers
Rebelais makes great bed time reading for children, as well. You know, I never thought of that - but they for sure would get all the toilet humour and out and out rudeness straight off. Sort of like a medieval Roald Dahl in a really rude mood. grawk
combined the parts of 2 of those collapsible beach chairs to make 1 functional one (both had broken in different ways).

Salt Peanuts
Thanks, Dinny. It was little odd - it'd been close to 10 years since I last had a new car and the interior/consoles look rather foreign to me.

Dusty Chalk
Am cleaning my office. New CFO doing a walk-through next week. I'll probably be looking for a job the week after, as I am nowhere near completion.

Dusty Chalk
I'm probably overstating things, but it's not the kind of first impression I want to make. And then again, I could be stating things quite plainly. I really should not have let it get so out of hand.
Augsburger
Well if your office is too neat the CFO might think you have too much free time on your hand.

cetoole
Ah, cool. Yeah, I am probably too far back from the river, and have the stereo going. Maybe wander down to the Pier A park tomorrow night and take a gander.
