Dusty Chalk
Drove around -- left the house around 12:45, didn't get back until after 6. Just errand after errand after errand.

nattonrice
Actually proved a result! Finally validating for the first time why my name should even be written on the pre-print, let alone the paper itself. The fact the result was trivial is beside the point
tyrion
Went to the Baltimore Marathon Expo. Found a neat product to use with Apple earbuds, called yurbuds. It improves the sound (still earbuds) and keeps them in your ears if you want to use them for running or other exercise.

Hopstretch
Speaking of options, the wife finally got the IPO monkey off her back today when they went to market at last. Originally filed to sell $330M at $16 to $18 and ended up with an order book well over $1B at $17.50. Closed at $19.50 after first day's trading. Back slaps and commemorative tombstones all round! Hoping to see her slightly less occasionally until the next one ramps up.

The Monkey
Speaking of options, the wife finally got the IPO monkey off her back today when they went to market at last. Originally filed to sell $330M at $16 to $18 and ended up with an order book well over $1B at $17.50. Closed at $19.50 after first day's trading. Back slaps and commemorative tombstones all round! Hoping to see her slightly less occasionally until the next one ramps up. That's good news. The timing was really perfect, well done. On a macro level, probably a decent sign for the rest of us that such offerings are being received well. Of course, the commercial real estate market and FHA are going to crash soon, but a brief bright spot is nice nonetheless. Plus, now 'stretch can stop flirting with the soccer moms for a bit. I took the US Foreign Service exam today, and in doing so forever changed the face of diplomacy. That sounds cool. Pretty soon you won't be able to tell us anything anymore. Good luck Mike and Gail. Looks like your probably 40 minutes in. Good luck Runners! Edited October 10, 2009 by The Monkey I wanted to.
