The Monkey Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Saw Rachel Getting Married. And Batman in IMAX.
The Monkey Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I liked Rachel Getting Married better. John Demme is one of my favorite directors. But I also really enjoyed Batman. I thought Heath Ledger lived up to the hype, and seeing it in IMAX was a treat. Lagged a bit in the last 1/3. Overall satisfying, though.
Smeggy Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Unless the wedding was really fucking awesome with nekkid girls jumping out of giant weeding cakes and setting granny on fire, I'd say Batman on imax
The Monkey Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Unless the wedding was really fucking awesome with nekkid girls jumping out of giant weeding cakes and setting granny on fire, I'd say Batman on imax yeah, I figured I might be in the minority on this one.
guzziguy Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I worked 15 hours without a freaking minute break. I'm really tired of crazy people. I say in the ocean with them all! And the lawyers too!
The Monkey Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 And the lawyers too! Basement for you. No bail.
Knuckledragger Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Bought $225 in R13, R19 and R38 fiberglass insulation. Hung a 10 foot curtain rod above the bay window in my living room. Managed to break the socket in a very nice turn of the century jade lamp while trying to rewire it. Successfully rewired two other floor lamps.
ingwe Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I worked 15 hours without a freaking minute break. I'm really tired of crazy people. I say in the ocean with them all! kiddo, you can't continue to do that; take my word for it. take breaks--eat properly. k?
The Monkey Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Went to Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Perry Street. Delicious. And surprisingly not outrageously expensive. Then saw Slumdog Millionaire, which I liked a lot.
Salt Peanuts Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Went out for some grocery shopping, only to figure out, as usual, we missed couple of items. Just finished making some chocolate pudding from scratch.
grawk Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 bought vitamins, groceries, a trash can, 2 cases of beer, a half gallon of ice cream and a minikeg of draft rootbeer.
DigiPete Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Took the boys out to play some baseball this afternoon Getting ready to take the wife out to dinner for V-Day.
Knuckledragger Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Helped out my friend Steve, who showed up earlier than I expected him. Developed a nasty headache. Politely declined to attend a trip to the strip club with my housemate, the other Steve, and a bunch of the diner staff. Completely and utterly failed to rewire this gorgeous art deco lamp/sculpture. I am sad and defeated, and my fingers are killing me. I might have to enlist the help of a professional, if I can find one.
Knuckledragger Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Doctor's orders, can't argue!
jinp6301 Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Lawyer's orders, can't argue! (or I get sued) FIFY!
MoonShine Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Got my Taxes done today but I didn't actually file them yet. Had to be more creative than usual so I am going to wait for the last day to file them because I have heard you have less chance of being audited that way. Never been audited (knock on wood) and if my number comes up this year it could get ugly. TurboTax says my audit risk is low so we shall see.
grawk Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 hung out in alexandria with some folks
Dusty Chalk Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Slept 'til almost 3, hung out in Alexandria with some folks. Made me realize how much I miss Alexandria/Arlandria.

Voltron Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Rode snow mobiles and went tubing with my son while my wife and daughter went skiing. Dropped by the Utah State Liquor Store and scored a small bottle of Glenlivet, some wine, and some Rogue Ale Yellow Snow IPA. Chilling with the FET-A now.
