Pars Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=1497989 Pretty good, but really needs a pricing lesson from JENA Labs... Quote
spritzer Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 This is what's been missing from my system all these years!!! I want one... no I need one. Quote
Fungi Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 This is what's been missing from my system all these years!!! I want one... no I need one. You should build one for yourself. Don't forget the Blackgates! Quote
luvdunhill Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 looks like the output stage on the B-52 to me... know we know where Ray got that idea... Quote
Voltron Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I haven't even seen what he is talking about, but I love the OP in that thread! Paraphrasing, but my favorite was "How can I get schematics to build a Hoax?" Quote
spritzer Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 This is what's been missing from my system all these years!!! I want one... no I need one. I have plenty of random tubes resistors and caps so I can just make my own version. I'll just claim it's patent pending like Mikhail if anybody starts asking questions... looks like the output stage on the B-52 to me... know we know where Ray got that idea... Quote
Duggeh Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Remember to have them really close to the amp end than the speakers though otherwise the lovely soldering work in them will spoil the finish on the cabinets. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Not to be confused with the TDS Passive Audiophile, which actually does do something to the signal. PS If anyone knows what this circuit is -- AudioAdvisor also sold something that performed "passive harmonic restoration" -- I wouldn't mind knowing what it is, seems like a good starter DIY project. (Not the hoax, though, anyone can solder shit to a wire. I want a circuit that actually does something.) Quote
deepak Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I'll take one to go with my $10000 Virtual Dynamics cable and Bybees quantum mechanics pandoras box please. Quote
kevin gilmore Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 The guy has clearly learned how to break into the cable just like MIT and Transparent do to their high priced cables. Quote
naamanf Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I want a circuit that actually does something Crossover? Comb filter? Quote
Bigguy Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I work on perfecting a hoax everyday. And for that I get paid weakly. Quote
Fitz Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 I haven't even seen what he is talking about, but I love the OP in that thread! Paraphrasing, but my favorite was "How can I get schematics to build a Hoax?" That line sounded like something straight out of the mouth of Patrick. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 Crossover? Comb filter?Search on "TDS Passive Audiophile" or "passive harmonic restoration". I don't know what it does. Quote
Pars Posted May 7, 2008 Author Report Posted May 7, 2008 Some interesting follow-up discussing Machina Dynamica and Geoff Kait http://www.diyhifi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1529&start=30 peufeu pretty much nails it: The marvilous thing about this guy is that each of his "products" pushes new "limits" and creates a new "paradigm" in the ways of fucking with what remains of the buyer's mind.
