swt61 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I've agreed to build some Sennheiser open wood cups, and I'm wondering if anyone has a good source for stainless steel mesh? I'm thinking of using #12 mesh, and only need a small amount, about 1 sq. ft.
luvdunhill Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 What about stainless steel perforated sheets: http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?id=1002&step=2&top_cat=1
n_maher Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Steve, I'd poke around www.mcmastercarr.com, specifically under woven wire cloth and see if you can't find what you're looking for.
swt61 Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 I'd rather use mesh, as that's what the customer wanted, but thanks for the link, it may come in handy in the future. Nate that link proved very helpful, and I've ordered a piece. Thanks!
Smeggy Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 If anyone does come across some good mesh/perforated sheet I'd love to see pics as I've had little success deciphering the gibberish on most web pages as to what's on sale. Maybe I'm too much of a thickie to figure it out I have a number of projects on the go that need the stuff.

Spiug31 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Someone want to make me a hat? do you fancy some DIY : http://www.angelfire.com/wy/svenskildbiter/armsandarmour/pchelm.html
Dusty Chalk Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 DIY is fine, but I was thinking more along the lines of "sculpted to my actual head-case", to wit: But in lieu of that, I might use the plans you posted, so thanks! On a more serious note, thanks for posting that link, I'll probably use it when I get around to building the RF-(mostly)-proof walls for my studio.
