en480c4 Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I <3 Firefly! While I've yet to step up with the new format, I'm happy to see this is getting the treatment it deserves.
Smeggy Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Sweet, I was just watching it again last night.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Looks more and more like I need a decent Blu-Ray player.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Looks more and more like I need a decent Blu-Ray player. My thoughts exactly. With this news, I'm glad that I've never got around to buying my own copy of Firefly DVD.
aardvark baguette Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I have yet to see one episode of the lauded Firefly. \
Salt Peanuts Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 ....and get or borrow the DVD so you can actually watch all of the episodes in the correct order.
Knuckledragger Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Wow. This is the first title that actually makes me want a Blu-Ray player.
grawk Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 i appreciate the show now, but it's still low budget effects...
Guest troymadison Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 i appreciate the show now, but it's still low budget effects... How do the effects compare to Babylon 5?
Knuckledragger Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 The, ahem, acting and direction are far better in Firefly. The main characters are more compelling. The bad guys are more scary (dude, Niska.)

Dusty Chalk Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 I actually really like the special effects in space -- they remind me of watching real astronauts when I was a kid. That and the fact that you can't hear rocket engines in space add a sense of realism and charm to the show.
deepak Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 it's super epic, has a tremendous story arc, some fantastic actors (and some pretty shitty ones), and some of the most stilted dialog ever put on film. Babylon 5 right? I've watched season one in its entirety. Didn't find the time to watch the rest. One of the made for TV movies (I think it was The Gathering?) blew me away.
fierce_freak Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 Firefly flipping owns your face, you must watch. My favorite television series ever, however short-lived (perhaps Lost will overtake it eventually, depending on how it ends).
