drp Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Reset help needed! The girlfriend's new iPhone crashed (was in parking lot and aborted a utube load) and a soft reset didn't do the trick. Is the next step a hard reset? From what I read, the procedure is to hook to computer and when iTunes recognizes, choose something.... Any other way to reset these devices sans a hard reset? Quote

drp Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Thanks Bud! I'd sent those same instructions (thinking that a 'soft' reset) to her, hoping a routine reset sequence would do the trick. No cigar. Quote
n_maher Posted November 18, 2009 Author Report Posted November 18, 2009 Pisser. If that doesn't do it she probably will need her computer and some time to bring it back. Quote
Voltron Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 In case you prefer the pushy way too... I do . . . a bit. Quote
CD44hi Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 I am looking for software to convert DVDs to Mpg4s or other touch-compatible format. I've seen Aimersoft DVD to iPod Converter, Tipard DVD to iPod Suite, etc.... a bit overwhelming in terms of choices. Anyone could recommend what they use and what makes it a good option? I did a search in this thread, it came back w/0 hits. Thanks! Quote
thrice Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 HandBrake handbrake 1) free 2) comes with presets for various formats and the ability to create your own presets 3) decent documentation overall it's a pretty decent program that's available across multiple platforms. I've only used it on a Mac, so YMMV. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 x2...2) comes with presets for various formats ......including iPhone/iTouch. It does exist on Windows / haven't tried it. Also: Linux. Quote

CD44hi Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 That's awesome! How's yours, Juan? Hi Peter, Check out the pic above. She is definitely in control! She loves dancing to bad 80's music. It's hilarious. -------- So, thanks again for the recommendation with the software. In this case I wanted it to get some training DVDs into the ipod to use while cycling (stationary trainer). IT works great for that. Ipod touch + external speakers good combination. I should get a portable dvd player, but this does the job. Quote
Voltron Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 She's a beauty Juan. Now, my girl, she is truly almost off to college now that she has started high school. Oh my! Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Oh she's so cute! Somehow I missed that pic the first time through this thread. (I'm betting I missed the second page when I responded, and that triggered the second page as having been read.) Quote
