grawk Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 You could load them to the Amazon cloud and use Amazon music player. Or I'm sure there's some other inefficient way to do it.
luvdunhill Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 I have my wife's account in my iCloud family settings and perhaps because of this, when anyone facetimes her, it calls me. Anyone know how to disable this, or perhaps it's due to another setting somewhere?
MexicanDragon Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Get Tidal and Spotify, download what you want. Dan is right about iTunes, though, with how it's the easiest to do. iTunes is horrible, though. **BRENT**

Anyone know how to disable this, or perhaps it's due to another setting somewhere? I assume that her account isn't the one logged in on Facetime (under Settings) on your phone?
shellylh Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 I'm not sure why everyone says that iTunes is so horrible. I have never had a problem with it. I guess the Windows version must be different.
MexicanDragon Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 The Windows version *is* horrible. **BRENT**

morphsci Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 I'm not sure why everyone says that iTunes is so horrible. I have never had a problem with it. I guess the Windows version must be different. Do people still use Windows computers? How quaint.

On your phone or iPad go to settings > FaceTime > and uncheck any email addresses or phone numbers that you don't want to be bothered at when they FaceTime her. On your Mac go to FaceTime and choose preferences, and uncheck them there too.
HeadphoneAddict Posted November 9, 2014 Report Posted November 9, 2014 Wifey wants an iPhone 6+ with larger memory, so I may be getting her 6+, which would be my very first iPhone ever. Coming from Android, I already know I detest iTunes, especially on my computer. I've tried it in past and hate how iTunes tries to take over your computer. Which is the easiest, best, freest way to transfer MP3 files to-and-from my computer to iPhone 6+ and play them without involving iTunes? Doubletwist might still work, but I haven't used it for years. You can set iTunes to look at your normal music directories for music without moving your music, so that you can still use other music players like you always do, but then still sync music to your iPhone with iTunes.

As others said Spotify/Beats/Google Play/Tidal/Rdio/etc. is the real solution. Still - http://ios.wonderhowto.com/how-to/put-music-your-iphone-without-using-itunes-0147391/
HeadphoneAddict Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 This is the one I recall some people using to load music from PC to iPods/iPhones https://www.doubletwist.com
MexicanDragon Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage It looks like Apple has finally solved (and distributed) the way of fixing the iMessage issue. You can now deregister iPhones (even if you already sold/traded/handed down/etc them) from iMessage and start getting messages from everyone again. Figured this may be of more help in the Android thread, but we all check this one anyways. **BRENT**
justin Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 i just tried this, it says my phone # isn't registered to imessage. so i guess i already disabled it properly
Jon L Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 This is the one I recall some people using to load music from PC to iPods/iPhoneshttps://www.doubletwist.com Thanks. That looks pretty slick. I also found this article helpful for those in same situation: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/6-ways-to-sync-music-to-your-iphone-without-itunes/
en480c4 Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 My 6+ arrived last night. Got it all set up and I have to say that while it's going to take some getting used to, it's pretty awesome. 3
dimitris Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 Same here. I find the sound quality of the 6+ to be dramatically better than my old iphone 5.
blessingx Posted November 25, 2014 Report Posted November 25, 2014 For those unhappy with their new iPhone 6s BlackBerry is offering a "trade up" program. https://tradeup.blackberry.com/en/us/rmw/passport.html

n_maher Posted November 25, 2014 Author Report Posted November 25, 2014 The offer probably would have been better received on April 1st. 1
grawk Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 I like the spigen tough armor case that I use on my 5S, but I haven't tried the 6S one. It is what I'd get if I were to get a 6S, tho.
crappyjones123 Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 I have the apple leather case. Expensive but I got a $50 gift card for some reason when getting a new phone so just go the one at the store. Works well enough. Only issue is that the jh16 jack does not go in all the way. In the store someone else had the same case and when I tried it on theirs, it went in just fine. Minor product variation I guess. 1
crappyjones123 Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 This just popped on my Facebook feed - http://www.spigen.com/iphone-6-plus-case-neo-hybrid.html
