VPI Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 I have shot two or three short videos just so I could try out iMovie. They did not take up much space but were each only 10-20 seconds long. Works well but I rarely find myself in a situation where I think something needs to be recorded. Dinny, I will talk to my phone about snickering at your 16GB model when we are in social situations. Quote
emelius Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 the video's actually pretty decent...i just always end up shooting it upside down... Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 I just took 15 minutes of video of nothing in particular (I left the video camera recording) and it decreased my remaining capacity by 1gb. Quote
MoonShine Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Just updated my 3G. Much better. Quote

Smeggy Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Yah, I was thinking of upgrading my pod until I saw the shitty camera res. I would love an iPhone 4 without the phone, 700 for a tricked out iPod is a bit much though. Quote
blessingx Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Received my iPhone 4 yesterday. How long did you guys have to suffer the "waiting for activation" message? I'm at the 12 hour mark. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 12 hours seems a bit long, to me. x2. It only took me about an hour or so and most of that was because of operator errors. Quote
blessingx Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Hmmm. GF and I are both in the same waiting period. Maybe they're just processing during business hours? Will call AT&T. Thanks guys. Quote
blessingx Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Well, I'm being told by AT&T my new phone micro-SIM card is already activated on another account. Fishy for a new wrapped phone (with SIM number correctly printed on phone box). Wonder if it's a refurb, evil hackers or just general AT&T incompetence? Quote
blessingx Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 It was of course number three. Rep started activating, got hung up, then fudged the rest. I even worked for AT&T a bit (then SBC) and it wasn't so bad, but it kills me I have to deal with them as a customer as every transaction is a disaster (last was AT&T DSL change to new AT&T DSL that killed my tubes for three weeks). Anyway, fixed now. Been searching 10 pages of 'case' search results in this thread and only came across a few 'JH13s don't fit,' etc. comments, so apologies if this was covered before, but anyone got any 'is great'/'stay away' suggestions for the free case program (before it disappears)? Leaning towards the Incase Snap Smoke, but could be swayed. Quote
Sherwood Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 I'm using the Speck case with the tartan cloth background. It looks nice and protects well, but it is effectively impossible to remove once you put it on, and the JH13 doesn't fit super well. I'd try another, were I able to do it again. Quote
The Monkey Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I am a big fan of iPhone 4. I really like it a lot. Need a good case now. The Defender is just too bulky. Quote
VPI Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 It is bulky but everything else seems to small for me. I find I can use the phone much better in one hand with the bigger case than with one of the small ones. I guess I am not one that needs a small phone. Quote
tyrion Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I've been caseless for a while now. I do have thr front, back and sides covered. I haven't found a case I like enough to use. I bought an Element case but as reported, it messes with the signal so that went back. Quote

MUCH better. Quote
mrarroyo Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 FWIW when I have had problems with cases when using a mini plug then out comes the dremel too and I go to town very carefully. I has worked well the few times I have had to do it. Good luck. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I also have Defender case and stupid screen protector aside, I like it. It is bulky, but nothing else provides the same level of protection which is important to me since I've got a knack for dropping my cell phones. In fact, I've dropped the phone twice so far onto hard surface from at least 3 ft with no damage. Quote

Salt Peanuts Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Are there anyone who builds/sells micro LOD for iPhone/iPod aside from Whiplash or ALO? Quote
The Monkey Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 The new iPod Touch is really thin. I like. But I wish the back was sort of a matte finish or something grippier instead of the chrome mirror. Still, a nice device. Tried facetime. Very cool. This touch will be the remote for my parents' music server and they break electronics just by looking at them, so I will definitely get it a Defender case if/when it comes out. Anyone know of any 4G cases that are tough that will do in the meantime? Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted September 24, 2010 Report Posted September 24, 2010 Dinny, I haven't seen too many cases for the new Touch yet and I don't think they'll be coming as quickly as they did for iPhone 4. Hard Candy has some (iPod Touch 4G Cases, Covers, and Skins | Hard Candy Cases), but they don't have holes for the speakers on the bottom (i.e., using FaceTime would be difficult). As for a Defender case, prepare to wait for a long while considering how long it took Otterbox to release ones for iPad and iPhone 4. Quote
