blessingx Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 meebo is slow as hell, though, in my experience.Hmmm... I use it daily as my primary IM 'client', but that's mostly on the laptop. Probably only used it half a dozen times on the touch. Have others had this experience?
thrice Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 anyone use their iPhone/touch as an iTunes remote? What program are you using Signal - The Ultimate Media Player Remote Signal is probably your best bet, but it sounds like there should be something coming out this Friday when the new iPhone app store is opened.
thrice Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Looks like iTunes 7.7 is now available and you can go in and view and download apps. Course they are of no use until iphone software 2.0 comes out.
CD44hi Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Cool. I'll definitely will be getting some applications. MonkeyBall maybe.
n_maher Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 Yay, another OS upgrade that I get to pay for for the Touch... weak.
laxx Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Signal - The Ultimate Media Player Remote Signal is probably your best bet, but it sounds like there should be something coming out this Friday when the new iPhone app store is opened. Yup, don't need Signal anymore as there's a free remote download.
n_maher Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 it'll be worth the $10. Yeah, I know, I just feel like I'm getting nickel and dimed by apple to "unlock" the potential of what was already a very expensive device. It's like they're passing along the cost while giving Phone users a free ride even though the cost of the phone is less than the Touch.

While the iPhone 3G is less expensive upfront, the cost of the plans has increased for the 3G... people will end up paying for it eventually.
n_maher Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 don't blame Apple, blame Congress Canada. FIFY
Contrastique Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Sweet, the iPhone is being launched tomorrow over here (finally). They contracted T-Mobile *stupid stupid stupid* but their contract ends in like 3 months and it seems that Vodafone is gonna get them too by then and that would be extremely nice.
blessingx Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Couple cool music related apps showing in the new Apps Store (iTunes links): Remote Pandora Eventful Pianist Tuner Karajan
tkam Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 about the only app i have any interest in would be a ssh client
tyrion Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 I WANT MY IPHONE! they had better not run out of stock before i get over there after work, dammit. I think I'm heading over to the ATT store early tomorrow. The question is how early.
thrice Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 you're not interested in the Universal Remote control? come on, wouldn't it be sweet to control clocks and trains and trees, all from your phone? I hear you can also have your own Steve Jobs reality distortion field generated around you too. That could come in handy!
tyrion Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 4am I'll take my chances with 6am. I'm up anyway, so I can just drive over, grab some coffee at DD and listen to music. i'm all alone here at work this week, so i just can't do it. no way i could get over there in time at lunch, either. They say that stock will be replensihed daily so if not tomorrow then Saturday.
n_maher Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Posted July 10, 2008 I hear they're going to release an app that makes you feel better about the fact that in a year the phone will be free and be available on any carrier. It's called bendoverandtakeit .
aardvark baguette Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 I wish I could get back my $600. But I knew it was par for the course. Fuck it. Im sitting this one out. Next iteration of macbook pro, however....
grawk Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 I thought they did give you $200 back if you paid $600...
aardvark baguette Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 it was a $100 credit at the apple store. I've yet to use mine.
aardvark baguette Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 and $180 early termination fee. Unless they waive it, but my understanding is they dont. I'm not 100% on that though.
