guzziguy Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Cables are like wine, see here: http://mr.caltech.edu/media/Press_Releases/PR13091.html This certainly reflects my beliefs about expensive cables and most tweaks. I trust my ears, it's my brain that I'm not too sure of. Quote
aerius Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Not that I needed yet another reason to boycot Monster Cables... Quote
Smeggy Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 And I thought coat hangers were only great as radio and tv antennas! I'm gonna have some hardwired to my K1000! Quote
OverlordXenu Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Too bad they didn't test "real" "audiophile" cables. Quote
GPH Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Too bad they didn't test "real" "audiophile" cables. Quote
JBLoudG20 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Too bad they didn't test "real" "audiophile" cables. Fuck your mother. Quote
tom_hankins Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I tried a comparison, but all I have are the thick plastic hangers. The Monsters were better than them by quite a bit when used in my system. HOWEVER! when I tried to hang my pants up on the monster cables they were not as good as the coat hangers!! I guess its a wash. Quote
OverlordXenu Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I just thought it would be a more useful test if they had included more than three different cables. Quote
Knuckledragger Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 :eyebleed: it's graphics like this that make be thankful for the existence of ABP. Quote
Smeggy Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I wonder if I can get shielded coat hangers to use as interconnects. Quote
n_maher Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I wonder if I can get shielded coat hangers to use as interconnects. They're called Anti-Cables. Quote
Smeggy Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 They're called Anti-Cables. Cool. I need a full set of Anti-Cables ready for the next meet. Quote
tom_hankins Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Cool. I need a full set of Anti-Cables ready for the next meet. www.anticables.com Just coated solid OFC. Let us know what you think. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 No, he's right. I mean, it's Monster, fer chris' sake, I bet I could tell the difference if they used some sort of silver cables. Quote
Smeggy Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 www.anticables.com Just coated solid OFC. Let us know what you think. Phah, I looked them up and I think their bits of wire are extortionately overpriced. I can get 100 coat hangers for one pair of their ICs. Quote
gtp Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Yeah, I really wish they included 99.9999999999999% pure silver teflon coated coat hangers. Then it really would have been interesting. Quote
OverlordXenu Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 please explain the physics behind that statement. Outside of the average Joe, most people (like us, on forums) think Monster cable is crap. The debate is over the high-end stuff... Quote
