deepak
Just curious if anyone has put serious thought into it.
ojnihs
it's always been a dream of mine actually. not sure if i'll ever do it, but it just seems like something i'd like to accomplish
ilikebananafudge
Can't say I have any urge to scale it. Seems far too dangerous, but I would imagine getting to the top would be an amazing feeling.

A casual acquaintance was pseudo-training for it. I'm guessing he will do it at some point.
ojnihs
Same here. A casual acquaintance was pseudo-training for it. I'm guessing he will do it at some point. it's been a while since i've gone climbing, but i had a pretty big interest in it during my high school and early college days. obviously with med school now, i'm not going to have much time to do it, but i guess i want to know the feeling of being on top of the world. aerius
No thanks, a death rate approaching 10% is not something I want to gamble with.
n_maher
10 years ago maybe, today no way. I used to rock climb a bit, cliff dive a bit and generally behave like I had nothing to worry about. Those days are now long behind me.
Salt Peanuts
Back in the day about 10 years ago when I was actually in shape and rock climbed/hiked on fairly regular basis, I would've said yes. Not now. Now-a-days, I'd like to avoid engaging in high-death rate activities if I can help it.
Duggeh
No. I find it a strenuous trek going to the fridge and back. I get a stitch when I stir my tea. Everest would be like my Everest.
swt61
I fell roller blading a few years back, and was out of work for a week. I haven't given up my mountain bike yet, but I'm becoming a real wimp.
Smeggy
I would've liked to climb Everest before it became a municipal tip littered with refuse and corpses. On second thoughts, why the hell would anyone want to climb a big cold fucking rock in the middle of nowhere.
Nenso
It would be a great accomplishment if anyone climbed it, then again I keep hearing stories of how people who climb it are getting frozen and left behind. I don't think I'd like that to happen to me..
thrice
I would've liked to climb Everest before it became a municipal tip littered with refuse and corpses. On second thoughts, why the hell would anyone want to climb a big cold fucking rock in the middle of nowhere. Because it's there? I would love to climb Mt. Everest. Perhaps someday I will. I've been working hard at losing weight and getting healthier, so maybe someday.
Duggeh
I've been trying to get healthy and lose weight too. I'm managing the latter, but it doesn't give me any motivation to climb any mountain. I'd give skydiving a go though. Falling down is easier than climbing up. postjack
i'll never climb mt. everest, but ever since I took a travel literature course in college, everest and the people who climb it have fascinated me. Its one hell of an amazing ordeal people go through to get to the top of that mountain.
jinp6301
I really want to try Kilimanjaro. even though I have no experience whatsoever
grawk
I had friends in alaska who climbed denali (mt mckinley). That sounded like enough of a pain I wouldn't want to try anything harder The idea of extreme training for 6 months prior makes it completely not worth it. Absorbine_Sr
i once saw a turtle. Reks, intrepid adventurer!! If I climb out of bed it's a success. Mountains? Not likely.

Nenso
I really want to try Kilimanjaro. even though I have no experience whatsoever It should be pretty easy, last year (or two years ago) four grade 12 girls from my school and another one from some other school went and climbed it with some teachers. My school organized the trip and it doesn't seem to be that hard compared to Everest.
jinp6301
Man, I wish I even had enough money to just go see Kilimanjaro.
