Fungi Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 http://www.samick.jp/shop/24_14.html Lots of I/O, looks interesting, but I don't know enough about anything to decipher the doohickeys in the pictures.
hYdrociTy Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Someone got lazy with photoshop....
Fungi Posted February 27, 2008 Author Report Posted February 27, 2008 looks nice to me, buy it and tell us how it is In a week I'll have 3 sources, 2 amps, way too many headphones, and I want to get a laptop as well. -> No more buying stuff until I pick the winners and sell off the rest. I think someone(s) with the E-MU 0404 USB should buy it and tell us how it is.
jinp6301 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 I think you should buy it and send it to me instead
hYdrociTy Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Someone ALSO got lazy with the rest of it \. Pretty modules and a sprinkling of Wimas won't save this one from mediocrity.
Fungi Posted February 27, 2008 Author Report Posted February 27, 2008 Someone ALSO got lazy with the rest of it \. Pretty modules and a sprinkling of Wimas won't save this one from mediocrity. How mediocre is it, with the 49,000 yen price tag in mind?
dc Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 man they sure squeezed a lot into a small area what's more surprising is the number of through hole components that they got in there
laxx Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Wow, that thing looks like it's on roids.
ojnihs Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 looks really nice, if i had the cash, i'd take the bite, but sadly, i have no dough
Smeggy Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Not keen on it's case, It looks much better nekkid.
ojnihs Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 why don't you give us a step by step on the circuit, then? x2 i'm interested to hear about this thing
boomana Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Not keen on it's case, It looks much better nekkid. Seriously ugly for something called a "luxury" headphone amp, but if it sounds good...
JBLoudG20 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 why don't you give us a step by step on the circuit, then? He's basing his opinion purely on the DAC
cclragnarok Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 He's basing his opinion purely on the DAC If you are talking about the main DAC chip, this thing uses the PCM1792 (TI's flagship along with the PCM1794).
