Voltron Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 There aren't any real duds, which makes this another subscription I may have to sign up for. I hope they take a page from Music Matters' playbook and do the same kind of gatefolds. That will make them even more worth the premium price.
aardvark baguette Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 I wish they would offer gold disc versions.
Voltron Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 I wish they would offer gold disc versions. They are supposed to come out in hybrid SACD as well as LP.
aardvark baguette Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 supposed to \ With my luck, I'll opt out of the vinyl and they'll blow through that, then announce there will be no version in disc format.
Voltron Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 I say supposed to because the promised Blue Note SACDs have not yet arrived.
Icarium Posted December 4, 2008 Report Posted December 4, 2008 Yeah they promised end of Nov when I signed up grr!
postjack Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 and I see that Acoustic Sounds is doing another set of 25 Blue Note titles. This is ridiculous, I'm going to have to start delivering pizzas at night or something.
tyrion Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 and I see that Acoustic Sounds is doing another set of 25 Blue Note titles. This is ridiculous, I'm going to have to start delivering pizzas at night or something. It's impossible to keep up. I need to stop buying gear and start buying more music. 2009 no gear, more music!
deepak Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 and I see that Acoustic Sounds is doing another set of 25 Blue Note titles. Have the titles been announced?

deepak Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 Nice For my tastes, it slightly edges out the Impulse 25...
Voltron Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 [ValleyGirlVoice] Uh, sha! [/ValleyGirlVoice] Actually, it is in the catalog but I cannot find it online. Here are a few titles from somebody at Hoffman: Hank Mobley-Workout Lee Morgan-The Sidewinder Herbie Hancock-Maiden Voyage Lou donaldson-Sunny Side Up Oops. PJ beat me too it in complete fashion. Great list, but cannot replace my joy over the Impulse! titles.
postjack Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 i'm enjoying watching your sig pic there morph, al.
deepak Posted December 5, 2008 Author Report Posted December 5, 2008 The Acoustic Sounds catalog says the Miles Davis Quintet albums are also being done on Analogue Productions.
aardvark baguette Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Dippin' and Back At The Chicken Shack = win
aardvark baguette Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 It's impossible to keep up. I need to stop buying gear and start buying more music. 2009 no gear, more music! heh, I'm contemplating the opposite, to a lesser degree. a much lesser degree. ok, both.
deepak Posted December 8, 2008 Author Report Posted December 8, 2008 Looks like the Bill Evans Fantasy 45s are also getting reissued in a box set, despite the protests from the collectors that don't want their sealed copies of "Waltz for Debby" to be devalued from the current inflated market prices
Voltron Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 I didn't dig into that issue, but I think the Miles Davis stuff may be in that mix as well. That is actually great for me because I missed the first round of Fantasy 45s and that stuff was already sold out. There are also more Blue Notes coming from Music Matters beyond the original 64 titles. Check it out.
postjack Posted December 8, 2008 Report Posted December 8, 2008 yeah i'll be getting the davis and evans boxes. good stuff.

grawk Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 The people that keep records sealed are making it more expensive for people that actually listen to them.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Did I read that correctly, that none of them are going to start shipping until January, including the first set?The people that keep records sealed are making it unnecessarily more expensive for people that actually listen to them.FTFY
postjack Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Did I read that correctly, that none of them are going to start shipping until January, including the first set?FTFY Since they are all pre-orders, and since acoustic sounds sucks when it comes to release dates, I'll wait until its actually in stock and on sale. This is one thing I really love about Apple. They completely hide a product, having everybody scrabbling onto every leak they can, building hype, and then bam, when they announce it they release it. fans go crazy and just throw their money in the air like quagmire at the strip club.
