I too am quite jealous. Jealous but broke. I don't particularly care how an amp looks so long as it sounds good. Regardless, I think Andy hit the jackpot with that thing and it seems he's enjoying it a lot.
Jon L Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I love the look of that amp though. My ES-1 doesn't run all that hot Birgir. Man, your ES1 has FAR better looks than ES2 IMHO! Seriously, who has done careful A B testing with the two with approproate tubes, same cables, etc?

Dusty Chalk Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I'm more interested in how it sounds. If it sounds good, I don't care how ugly it is. I don't think it looks as bad as others do. That said: Wood side panels, metal fascias == good; tri-color scheme (wood, silver, black), black screws/bolts/retainer clips/whatevers in otherwise light front panel == not so good. I'm thinking if he had gone with a black front panel, or with silver screws and a silver top, either of those choices would have been better.
