Pars Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 http://cgi.ebay.com/DENON-DCP-100-Portable-CD-Player-Discman_W0QQitemZ300191015496QQihZ020QQcategoryZ15054QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Good gawd... I can't believe how much this went for! Maybe its just me , but I was gonna bid $20-30 for this and see if I could fix it for my work rig.
dc Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 damn, must be the current FOTM vintage PCDP
boomana Posted January 26, 2008 Report Posted January 26, 2008 I had two, gave one to Thrice. I think I paid just under $100 for one, around $160 (iirc) for the other in mint condition. I figured that I overpaid for the second one, but I liked it so didn't care. It's a pretty nice pcdp, but it needs a stable surface and isn't, therefore, really portable. It's good in a nice bedroom/office rig.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 If you think that's crazy, you should see what Denon DCP-150 go for, when they show up for sale.
Pars Posted January 27, 2008 Author Report Posted January 27, 2008 Yeah, I figured the 150 would go for even more... but this DCP-100 needed to be fixed and it still went for that much.
kpeezy Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 Yeah... I was watching it and was surprised too... FYI there is a DCP-50 and a iRiver iMP550 on ebay as well... I have to buy other stuff
saint.panda Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 People are still into vintage pdcps?
thrice Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 Wow, I was thinking that $200 is good considering how much people are willing to pay for those two. I've seen DCP-150s go for $500 on eBay.
Smeggy Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 people are strange, when they're on e-bay when they're on e-bay, people are strange. When they're strange, bidding goes out of your range when they're strange when they're straaaaaaaaynge
Pars Posted January 29, 2008 Author Report Posted January 29, 2008 People are still into vintage pdcps? Yeah. I use one at work. Kicks the living shit out of an iPod, at least one not big enuff to hold alot of uncompressed tunes. Well, at least without buying a DAC. But then I'd have SPDIF to deal with... so, I don't mind hauling some CDs...
