Yikes Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 For a long time my most hated song was Tony DeFranco and the DeFranco Family "Heartbeat (It's a Love Beat)" But it has been surpassed by Acky Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cirus. VOMIT What's your MOST HATED song?
Dusty Chalk Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Achy Breaky Heart was the first song that popped into my head when I saw the title of this thread. But we've had some real crap: all yacht rock (probably should be called yacht pop, since "rock" it is not), Christopher Cross, Air Supply, Barry Manilow (not everything though -- I like "Mandy" and "I am Music, I write the songs" -- but "Copa Cobana"...? Please make it stop.), the Richie Family, Stars on 45, etc.
philodox Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Hmmm... don't listen to the radio enough to be irritated. I hate all that macarena type stuff though. Nails down a chalkboard.
ojnihs Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 I don't think I can pinpoint a most hated song either. I pretty much hate any sort of pop that's on the radio these days.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 hollaback girls. I finally heard that song for the first time the other day (I've seen it hated before), and I really don't see the problem. It's completely forgettable, in fact, I didn't even notice it was playing -- it was just monotonous.
aerius Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. Even though I've never seen Titanic, and plan on never seeing it, the song still makes me sick. "Achy Breaky Heart" edges it out on my hate list, but if I had to watch the music videos for both it would be too close to call.
tiberian Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 god i HATE that song too. that titanic craze was just plain silly. i rather go watch 50 cent and listen to in da club...
Patu Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 I hate all that macarena type stuff though. Bingo! Macarena must be the most hated pop song of all time. Seeing people doing that stupid dance in night clubs makes me vomit.
mjg Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 I finally heard that song for the first time the other day (I've seen it hated before), and I really don't see the problem. It's completely forgettable, in fact, I didn't even notice it was playing -- it was just monotonous. they played it every single day last summer at my gym, and continue to play it in bursts... it won't die. it's like a ten headed gwen stefani medusa that regenerates each time you suffocate a head in a toilet... it's reallly horrible. i wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 hollaback girls. Agreed. Man, I hate that song.
blessingx Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 It has to be something by The Captain & Tenille or Tony Orlando & Dawn.
General Kenobi Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 Anything by Cher... her voice actually hurts when I hear it
aerius Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Anything by Cher... her voice actually hurts when I hear it There was a guy in my dorm when I was in university who played "Believe" by Cher at least 5 times a day, if it weren't for the fact that he was a chick magnet I would've kicked his ass on general principle.
blessingx Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 No one's mentioned They Built This City by Starship?
grawk Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 I saw Starship on the We Built This City tour...ah, high school...

You have more control than I would have had!
Dusty Chalk Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 No one's mentioned They Built This City by Starship?I've heard worse.
aerius Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 You have more control than I would have had! He was on the same floor but a few rooms down from me so it wasn't too bad. But if he was my roommate I probably would've shoved the CD up his ass.
postjack Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 I guess I am just in a position where I never listen to non-NPR radio, ever. I don't watch any of the TV music channels, or that much TV to begin with. I have no computer speakers, so no new popular music gets to me on myspace or anything. My friends all listen to kick ass music, and if they don't I quickly shame them with my superior rock knowledge, so that they feel embarassed to play anything that isn't awesome. Having said that, I do hate the Eagles.
Guest GlendaleViper Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 Wow. I'm usually too cowardly to say something like that on my own, but since I have company, I will say it loud and proud: I FUCKIN HATE THE EAGLES!

I could care less about the eagles, but I hate the beatles. Ugh, the world will be a better place when boomers stop programming radio stations.

Dusty Chalk Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I could care less about the eagles, but I hate the beatles. Ugh, the world will be a better place when boomers stop programming radio stations. Amen!
