dc Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 a mug tree i bought from target... some banana hangers... some woo stands...
JBLoudG20 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I just put them on my desk. Mine are just laying on a shelf.
Spiug31 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Mine are currently on my desk but I may pick up an AT-HPS500 once I've got my amp here and settled in
deepak Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Nothing but Stax stands for me. They do get a bit expensive when you need a lot of them... You don't find it compresses the bottom of the Omega 2 pads? Here is the stand I use:
spritzer Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 You don't find it compresses the bottom of the Omega 2 pads? It does but the angle of the earpieces on my set makes it less of an issue. I also change them out at least once every two years or when the foam has gone soft.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 http://www.geocities.jp/mister_terch/zakki01stand.htmlThat page brings up an issue that has been bothering me -- I may just have to get the AT stand. When I hang my headphones freely (including the Leatherheads, and others that have rather nice pads), they touch towards the bottom. The AT stand appears to solve this for most headphones, but as the pictures show, does not for the Leatherheads. Anyone have any recommendations?
Spiug31 Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 A wider more generous wooden top peice on the AT-HPS500 could more fully support the headband and prevent the sag that allows the bottom of the L3000 earpads to touch. If you were able to manage this it might be a solution.
Nenso Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 yay! Seems like I found a good find
Dusty Chalk Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 yay! Seems like I found a good find Yes, you did. Good boy. (gives Nenso a Smartie)
hungrych Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I just used a headphile stand for the L3k...
Nenso Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Posted January 24, 2008 I just used a headphile stand for the L3k... Hey may I see a picture please? I'm very curious about AT + Headphone pipestands lol
hungrych Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Just had to be careful taking it off to not scratch the top of the pads, which never seemed to happen anyway. [me=hungrych]misses his L3k[/me]
Nenso Posted January 25, 2008 Author Report Posted January 25, 2008 thanks a lot man.. looks really pretty. you're not supposed to sell limited edition things you know..
Salt Peanuts Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I use a banana hanger and Headphile stand from back when it was actually affordable. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't sold the Headphile Triple stand I used to have. Time to go make some stands soon, methinks.
Nenso Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 yea smeggy, i agree.. but I went with the much cheaper Woo Audio ones.. ill grab the AT ones another time probably.. maybe I'll get a Japanese friend to buy and ship me if it makes a difference.. seems like many people are charging like $35 for shipping
swt61 Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 I love my swt stand (which I just realized I've never posted a picture of) but I'm not sure he really builds them for sale. Thanks Nate. Yes I do build them to sell. Everyone is custom though, as I hate building the same thing over and over. I have many pics of stands I've built for people that I could send to anyone who might be interested. Also S^2 Audio (warrior05 and I) has a less expensive stock stand that Scott builds, and they're quite nice on a budget. I use wall hanging stands for my own headphones.
n_maher Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Thanks Nate. Yes I do build them to sell. Everyone is custom though, as I hate building the same thing over and over. One of these days when I get my poop together I'll be contacting you about another stand.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Nice. At first glance, it looked like a coathanger-sized headphone rack. Which is what I'm going to end up needing. Does anyone have any ideas on the problem of pads touching at the bottom, or being flattened against the headphone stand? I was thinking a little brace that may angle in, so that the farther back you push the headphones on it's "rung", they are pushed apart slightly more. That way, one can push them back just to the point where they're not touching, but no more. Has anyone tried anything like this?
swt61 Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Hmmm, I've had mine hung on these racks for quite some time now, and I just don't think there's enough force where the pads touch at the bottom to flatten them. So for me at least it's a non issue.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Yeah, it must be just some headphones (Leatherheads; R10's, IIRC; DT770's).
Nenso Posted February 12, 2008 Author Report Posted February 12, 2008 Thanks Nate. Yes I do build them to sell. Everyone is custom though, as I hate building the same thing over and over. Wow those are really nice stands. Maybe I'll contact you in the future if I need something like that. Really nice how the hangers have a little curve so the headbands won't get damaged. Just wondering.. do u accept customer wood?
