n_maher Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 let's not also forget that brady accomplished his 50 td season riding belichick's "run it up" offense. "what do you want us to do? kick a field goal?"Sorry, this argument got me curious so I looked up the Colt's 04 season. You sure they weren't running it up when they beat the Texans 49-14, or when they beat the Bears 41-10, or maybe when they beat the Lions 41-9, or maybe, just maybe when they beat the Titans 51-24? I don't know about you but sure seems to me that they were pounding the shit out of folks just like the Pats did in the early part of this year...
grawk Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 It's professional football, not midgets. No such thing as "running up the points." You play to win. Anyone who watched the steelers in the 70s knows that there's no safe margin of victory, so you keep scoring until the game is over.

Manning didn't even play in the fourth quarter nor did they even score in the fourth. Indy's defense kept Houston's terrible offense from getting anywhere near the endzone. Bears game. Peyton nor Edgerrin play in the fourth quarter. All the colts did was run, Sorgi never passed. Lions game. Peyton again didn't play in the fourth quarter. Plus Detroit had it coming after the Brawl at the Meadowlands. Titans game. This one I agree with. The difference, that I see, is that they benched Manning in the fourth quarter and ran the ball when they had the ball to run out the clock. The patriots on the other hand kept going and going. Deep passes in the fourth quarter and going for it on fourth downs when already up 30 some odd points is a bit much.
deepak Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 manning also pretty much sat the last game of the season. he took, what, 4 snaps in the final game? the man could have easily thrown probably about 3-4 more tds. like i said, marino is king of qbs, no question. brady, not a chance. edit: *fucked up* How is Marino the king of QBs? He didn't win a single Superbowl for Miami
ojnihs Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 How is Marino the king of QBs? He didn't win a single Superbowl for Miami true, but boy was he good fine, when it comes to superbowl wins, joe montana
deepak Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 true, but boy was he good Not arguing that. And aerius' point about Manning playing in a dome is something I never thought about. And he really doesn't play that great in cold/rainy weather.

deepak Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 well i think the new stadium is partly open? that should make things interesting Or a lot of whiny Colts fans that might try even harder to ban Pats fans from buying tickets for any AFC showdown from here on (ugh that was one of the most pathetic things ever)
ojnihs Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 i was always wishing for a new stadium when i lived in minnesota, an outdoor one. god that would have been amazing. freeze your balls off but amazing.
deepak Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 i was always wishing for a new stadium when i lived in minnesota, an outdoor one. god that would have been amazing. freeze your balls off but amazing. SRO at Gillette, cold, been there
ojnihs Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 SRO at Gillette, cold, been there siberian football league, now that would be something.
grawk Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I'd say bradshaw will always be the king of QBs. He called his own offense, and could pull off amazing comebacks when needed.
ojnihs Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 I'd say bradshaw will always be the king of QBs. He called his own offense, and could pull off amazing comebacks when needed. don't get me wrong, bradshaw was amazing (doesn't hurt that he played for my beloved steelers), but i just think marino was THE qb

ojnihs Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Again, THE quarterback has to have rings. in that case, montana
grawk Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 in that case, montana We'll have to disagree on that one.
ojnihs Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 We'll have to disagree on that one. i'm fine with disagreement, it makes the world go round
Nenso Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Hey.. is it true that the Hippos won? my friend told me about it..
xand1x Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 i listened to Steve Reich instead of watching the Super Bowl. i think i made the right decision, because i would have wanted both teams to have lost. In a perfect world Jacob..in a perfect world..
humanflyz Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I thought the game was over when Brady connected with Moss on that TD, but damn, Eli came up HUGE. Gotta give props where props are due.
