n_maher Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Deepak, I already have taken four of these and mounted them inside K1000 cages. They are perfect for blowing one's fool head. Are you still working on the underpants mod as well?
Dusty Chalk Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I feel like they are not going low enough. You may want to try moving them around, and moving around your listening position. Try putting them right in the corners, or try putting yourself right in the corners. My Special 25's go down to 30 Hz, and that's plenty bass for me, and I'm a bass-head.
humanflyz Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 The 22Ls are rated at ~30Hz extension at -6db, so there is a pretty big roll off, which would explain he wants more bass.

The problem is my listening area is so cramped, so there isn't much area to move things around in. Moving them any closer to the wall makes the bass "louder", but it sounds crappy and bloaty. I do have an extra bedroom I store my books and vinyl in, and I've considered moving my entire rig, computer and all, into this room to give the speakers more room to breathe. It would be a hell of an undertaking though. It would give me the opportunity to mount my turntable (and future turntables) on the wall though, which would be great.
TheSloth Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 If you have such a small room, there is little point trying to get more bass extension IMO.

Well, if I was on any other forum, I'd say move the speakers and try headphones, but you already know that. Sounds like you need both more bass, and room treatments to reduce the overhang. I'd say, move to the other room.

I'm going to spend more time cutting my audiophile speaker teeth on the Quads.
