Cankin Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I need a standalone usb dac. Anything else I should consider in the same price range?? Some people mentioned that 06 Microdac is too warm, output level is way higher than normal and bad usb implementation. Is the the case with 07 model too??
Cankin Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 oh, I think I'll get a 0404 usb, because if I upgrade to lavry or benchmark later, I can still use it as a transport, right? my other gears for now are M^3 and pl750(yes, that's Ultrasone )
jinp6301 Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Yea, I think I'm getting a 0404 usb as well. It seems well received and hopefully it'll be better then the Lite-AH DAC
Cankin Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 I had a Lite Dac Ah before, but an asshole over HF ripped it off from me
Cankin Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Posted January 12, 2008 I went all over the town and couldn't find a 0404 usb anywhere. Today I finally found one from a store only 20 steps away from my house. Out of the box, I like it better than stock Lite dac-ah. Much more detail from 0404 usb. Lite dac is too warm or think sounding for me, maybe NOS sound isn't what I'm looking for.
jinp6301 Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 yay, sounds like what I need from a dac. I dont really like the Lite DAC that much either
deepak Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 I wasn't big on the DAC-AH either. The E-MU0404usb is a great performer.
hYdrociTy Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Yea, I think I'm getting a 0404 usb as well. FTOMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTM I dont really like the Lite DAC that much either See I told you
jinp6301 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 FTOMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTMFOTM See I told you Yea, you were right
