JBLoudG20 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 you must have a big sidecar on your bike. No sidecar. Just an automatic thiel shredder. Damn me and my tabs, I didn't realize I was in the same thread.
n_maher Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Your link doesn't work for me either JB. And when I check the News section of their site there isn't a matching link there either.
JBLoudG20 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 How 'bout this? http://www.neutrik.com/client/neutrik/media/downloads/Media_1190529305.pdf

And hmmmm, we'll have to see how those look in person. It looks like they wanted to bring them more into line with what their XX series XLRs and 1/4" plugs look like so maybe it'll be ok.
Torpedo Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 It's a large PDF that has their new lines. Justin's link didn't work for me. I emailed him 35 times to make sure he would fix it, but he never once replied. Then I called him. He said the post would be added to his waiting list. Fine I was happy to wait to get the correct link. 2 months later, he told me we was ready to change it, but I wasn't able to pay for it. Now he canceld the edit. FUCK HEADAMP and JUSTIN Neutrik - Updates LOL BTW those Neutriks look about the same. Any internal difference? Rgrds
JBLoudG20 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 LOL BTW those Neutriks look about the same. Any internal difference? Rgrds Don't know yet. I have some on order, so I'll check when I actually get them.
n_maher Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Don't know yet. I have some on order, so I'll check when I actually get them. Just figured I'd follow up on this. My shipment of plugs showed up from Parts Express today and they're the exact same plug as the previous generation Pro-Fi. No changes at all. So maybe the next gen plugs are still a ways off?

My shipment of plugs showed up from Parts Express today and they're the exact same plug as the previous generation Pro-Fi. No changes at all. So maybe the next gen plugs are still a ways off? Oh yeah I forgot. My shipment had the same exact plug as well. Either the new ones are the same, or they haven't propagated through the supply lines, yet.
manaox2 Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 The handle just looks a little different, no big deal to me, unless it's really dog-pecker pink like that. dog pecker pink I guess I cannot recommend lipstick as a better descriptor now.
blessingx Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 As we discussed earlier in this thread... looks like Apple may [this is all rumor] drop the Firewire 400 ports on new laptops, but likely a compatible adapter will be available for use with the 800. AppleInsider | Next-gen MacBook, MacBook Pro spotted in matching outfits
grawk Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 There are lots of fw400/fw800 cables
Hopstretch Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 I'll settle for a single FW 3200 port. Yahooooooooo!
blessingx Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Damn. Not to say I told you so, but now that the new MacBook has inherited many of the MacBook Pros advantages, Apple needs to separate the product lines. Thus no Firewire (for "serious graphics/ video users"). See now instead of the Pico, Duet users have to spend several hundred more for the "professional" laptop model. Grrrrrr. Wonder how many days Firewire has left after leaving iPods and now MacBooks? Still most of the other laptop upgrades announced today are a plus.
tyrion Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I would have liked the option to go with a duet in the office but if I get the macbook, it's no longer an option. On the other hand, I would be very happy with a dac only Pico for my office rig.
ingwe Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Perhaps Apogee is working on a USB Duet?
Hopstretch Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Perhaps Apogee is working on a USB Duet? If they did a simple consumer USB DAC of similar quality at a lower price point they'd make bank. But it would be going outside their core focus and I doubt we'll see it.
Salt Peanuts Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 I received my Duet cable from Nate today and listened to my Duet through my speaker rig, using it in place of 840c. Upon listening to few tunes with it tonight, I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. We'll see the initial impression/new toy experience holds, but if it does, I can definitely see it as my only digital source.
ingwe Posted October 22, 2008 Report Posted October 22, 2008 ^^^ It certainly has held for me. The vinyl project has produced some wonderful results. I've never had a better source.
archosman Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Perhaps Apogee is working on a USB Duet? Just picked one up today. It's bigger than I thought. Mine is slightly different than the pic here. It has a small notch cut out in between the two ports. Sort of looks like a small USB port, but there's nothing inside it.

Salt Peanuts Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 Methinks the opening's for a future FireWire 800 port.
archosman Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 Methinks the opening's for a future FireWire 800 port. if it is it's way too small. Sure looks like one of the tiny USB cable port. It's tempting to take apart, but I'm not the best on re-assembling things.
