slwiser Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Hello I am interested to see if any of you think that there are limits to your resolution. That is, your ability to determine if one thing is better than another when you very well know it should be?
Dusty Chalk Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Yes, absolutely. I am by no means a golden ears, I've referred to myself in the past as "laminate ears".
slwiser Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 So for anyone noting my comments in the future please consider that it is in this context that the limits of my resolution have been essentially meet with the system I have now. I can tell differences in some things but not others. For example: Lavry DA10 --> Virtual Dynamics Nite cables RCA ---> Yamamoto HA-02 sounds much like and I can tell no essential difference from this: iMod 5.5g --> ALO Auricap Doc ---> Yamamoto HA-02 while listening with my Ultrasone Edition 9 headphones. I listened to SK138s Asur 840c against the Lavry and heard differences like more detail but this was not that significant to me. So my point of diminishing returns has been found.
