Dusty Chalk Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 "The band is just fantastic, the sound is really fat. Oh by the way, which one's Matt?" Have a Cigar as done by John Foxx & the Maths
Hopstretch Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 World Party -- Take It Up. It is impossible to be depressed while listening to this song. I got an extra glimpse of the truth today. Staring at my breakfast, when I thought I heard it say: "Fighting is no good. Success an empty lie. The treasure hunt is lonely until you realize, We came to take it up, we came to take it up, we came to take it up! We came to raise it up, we came to take it up, we came to move it uuuuuuppppp!" (Wicked Hammond organ, Doodle oo doo etc.) 1
The Monkey Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 The Kinks -- Complicated Life: "Gotta stand and face it, Life is so complicated. Ladi dah di dahdah, ladi dah di dah dah Gotta get away from the complicated life, son, Life is overrated, life is complicated, Must alleviate this complicated life. Gotta get away from the complicated life, son, Gotta get away from the complicated life."
Hopstretch Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 How do you do regret better than this? You cannot.

Dusty Chalk Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Yazoo, "Winter Kills" I actually have no idea what she's saying, from approximately 1:30 to 2:00, but I only just realized it was there. It must have hit me totally subconsciously, because I was just listening to the Reconnected Live album, and she says the same thing. I'm pretty sure. Anyone know? EDIT: Got some of it from the remix on the Reconnected EP ("Electronic Periodic's Sub/Piano Mix"): So basically you stick to free and loose? I watch you sometimes when you're reading And I wonder if you really believe everything we talked about And that's why you're always? failing Perhaps you just frighten me You always seem to be moving blindly in and out of emotions Such confusion Sometimes I really want to hate?/hurt? you
Dusty Chalk Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 "And if you live by the rules of 'it's over' then I'm sure that that makes sense" Dido, "White Flag" -- I know this is supermarket drivel, but it reduces me to a tear-well-up-eyed mess every time I ear it. There's something about the clear purity of her voice and straight delivery that just adds to the sincerity and heart-felt-ness of this song. To me, anyway.
Dusty Chalk Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 "The Island of Doubt It's like the taste of medicine" Talking Heads, "Crosseyed and Painless"
