thrice Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 What's an interesting color? Nice present to the wife. Are the tree branches and birdies on the first panel and the pink sky on the second? Color: what do you think? Yes, that is correct, there are two panels of plexiglass, the top with black sillouette of birds/tree branches, the back with the sky coloring.
n_maher Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 What's an interesting color? Silly, it's his favorite, Pink. The alliteration of the Pretty Pink Pico drove him crazy, he had to have it.

n_maher Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 I got one with grey body and orange panels, with orange LEDs pics or it didn't happen
grawk Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 That is the effect I was going for, yes!

I'm actually thinking of getting the LED on Gilmore Lite (assuming I keep it as my backup amp) changed over to orange, so it'll match the B22 and Vanguard II. I wonder how difficult it would be to change the one on 840C.

I wonder how difficult it would be to change the one on 840C. I know a guy, who knows a guy Yeah it's pretty easy to change out LEDs. I'm pretty sure the Gilmore light LED is board mounted in such a way that you could take the cover off and desolder/solder a new one in...the resistor for the LED might not be the right value for the level of brightness you want, but that can be changed as well. As far as changing out an LED in a CD player, well it depends on location and whether it's easy to get to, some are, some aren't...most aren't as they tend to be soldered on PCBs that are mounted against the front panel with other buttons/controls and require a lot of dissasembly/reassembly to change out.
Chekhonte Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 have you played much on the PS3? I've only played uncharted and resistance. Uncharted was way too short. I beat it on hard in less than 6:30 hours. Have you played any other games that only came out on the PS3? (I also own a 360 and play multi platform games on that)
tkam Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Mostly just resistance and heavenly sword though I do also own ninja gaiden sigma. It gets used most as a blu-ray player.
ojnihs Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 hey tkam, got any recommendations on cheaper hd-dvd players? i figure i may as well get one. the ps3 is mostly pulling duty as a ps3, but it's good to have for bluray, although i want some movies that are only out on hd-dvd
tkam Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Toshiba HD-A3 is available at many places for under $200 right now
ojnihs Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Toshiba HD-A3 is available at many places for under $200 right now sweet, thanks. frick, i realized that I'm going to need to buy a HDMI receiver to switch between the PS3 and HD-DVD player....more planning must be done
tkam Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 You could just get a cheap hdmi switcher like one of these
ojnihs Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 You could just get a cheap hdmi switcher like one of these dude...you rock
Dusty Chalk Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Or you could just get a "universal" like the Samsung, but you'd still need the switcher for your PS3.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Vicki, have you posted impressions on your SRM-001, yet? If so, I missed them. I'm dying to hear what you think of them.

Dusty Chalk Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Yeah, but I also read where she said she was going to buy it from him even if it wasn't so...why not go ahead and start using it?

No, my friend's in Puerto Rico until right after the New Year. I do want to give him the option of returning them, if he wants, unopened. If I buy them, I'll get my own. I gotta say, though, it's getting real hard to just have them here looking at me, begging me to give them a quick listen...just for a minute or two...no one will know... ...arrrrgh.
