SeaWolf Posted March 16, 2018 Report Posted March 16, 2018 Getting most of our snow late in the year again. Over 12" last night; I guess construction on our new back yard will be delayed. Got to love the randomness of the Sierras. The Donner party would be proud, maybe.. 1
n_maher Posted March 16, 2018 Report Posted March 16, 2018 ^^ Same late winter here. They're saying we may be in line for another storm mid-next week.
Craig Sawyers Posted March 16, 2018 Report Posted March 16, 2018 After the "beast from the East" that hit the UK a couple of weeks ago - followed by real spring weather (13C, or 55F today and glorious sunshine) - we're in for another bout of Winter. Temperature set to plummet to freezing tomorrow and Sunday, with significant snow fall. Mid March. In the UK - that is pretty damned unusual.

Dusty Chalk Posted March 16, 2018 Report Posted March 16, 2018 (Movie narrator voice) It has begun...
n_maher Posted March 17, 2018 Report Posted March 17, 2018 Side benefit of all the late snow, the ability to snowshoe with the kids. Got andrew out for a little walk in the woods this afternoon. 10
Hopstretch Posted March 20, 2018 Report Posted March 20, 2018 Bunch more rain on the first day of Spring as a Pineapple Express comes to town. Beats yet another Nor'easter I guess! 1
skullguise Posted March 20, 2018 Report Posted March 20, 2018 ^^^ I'd take rain right now, definitely. The worst of the next storm will be a bit South of me (Boston and South, into Connecticut and Rhode Island), but Nate and I are in the 3-6" band according to one newscast. Up to 10" elsewhere....lovely.
guzziguy Posted March 20, 2018 Report Posted March 20, 2018 We're forecasted to get 3" or 4" starting tonight through Thursday. I suspect that the mud will flow again. There's a mandatory evacuation from those areas affected by the Thomas fire burn and 4 other mandatory evacuations in SoCal. Hope it's not too bad.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 21, 2018 Report Posted March 21, 2018 DC is confusing -- on the one hand, The Weather Channel is forecasting 8" +, but on the other, it started out above freezing and is supposed to stay above freezing, so I don't see how it can accumulate. And that's before factoring in accuracy. I'll worry about it when I wake up in the morning.
acidbasement Posted September 22, 2018 Report Posted September 22, 2018 It's still technically summer, eh? 2 3 1
guzziguy Posted September 22, 2018 Report Posted September 22, 2018 I thought summer only lasted 3 weeks where you live. ? 1
Voltron Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 Technically, that was the first day of Autumn. ?
acidbasement Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 My calendar says the first day of autumn was the 23rd this year. But it feels like wet winter anyway. Technically, that was the first day of Autumn. [emoji41]
Knuckledragger Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 NONONONO IT'S TOO SOON FOR THIS THREAD GO AWAY. 1 1
Aimless1 Posted September 24, 2018 Report Posted September 24, 2018 Funny. My mother just asked how I'll get back from Drummond Island in October if it snows. She was not amused when I said drive.
sbelyo Posted November 16, 2018 Report Posted November 16, 2018 (edited) Sucked up an extension cord into my snow blower... FVCK. Spent an hour untangling it, went to pull start it and the cord won't recoil now. Had to drag it back in the garage. I'm mad now! Snow is stupid... At least the driveway was clear when my wife came home from work Edited November 16, 2018 by sbelyo
n_maher Posted November 16, 2018 Report Posted November 16, 2018 It just started snowing here. We're on tap to get a wintery mix overnight which is a nice way of saying it'll likely be absolute shit tomorrow morning. 1 1
sbelyo Posted November 16, 2018 Report Posted November 16, 2018 lol, yep. Luckily I work from home. The cars were already encased in at least a half inch of ice while I was untangling the cord
dsavitsk Posted November 16, 2018 Report Posted November 16, 2018 Yay! Snow is here! Pic was taken a few hours ago - probably 4-5" at this point. 7 1
dsavitsk Posted November 16, 2018 Report Posted November 16, 2018 Grill cover would cost more than that thing is worth. 2
