Aimless1 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 That is certainly a depressing sight! Drove through near white out conditions yesterday. A 75 mile trip took 2 3/4 hours to travel. Ice/slush/0 visibility. Why would anyone want to give that up for Miami Beach?
Dusty Chalk Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 It sucks living in Miami Beach, three pictures I took yesterday morning by the dock off my building.Yeah, it must be pretty depressing having EVERYONE EVERYWHERE ELSE HATE YOU. Oh, and: You know, I haven't been to Florida in recent memory, if I had, I could probably add it to my favorite places list, since I like ultra-temperate climates (Hawaii, San Diego, etc.).
Fitz Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 It sucks living in Miami Beach, three pictures I took yesterday morning by the dock off my building. Oh how awful.
Wmcmanus Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 It sucks living in Miami Beach, three pictures I took yesterday morning by the dock off my building. Ya, lucky you, living in your "building" and not having to cut the grass. That's what I need to do today, with my JH13 and iPod rig. Thankfully, I have a rider so I don't have to actually exercise. That would really be torture!
Hopstretch Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 It was sunny and relatively warm (40s) this morning. Then it rained. Then it snowed quite hard for a bit, before tiring of that and throwing in some sleet. Now it's drizzling again. If you don't like the weather in New England, wait half an hour.
mrarroyo Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I was going to post a few pictures of the very poor (they must be because they can only afford the bottom half of the bathing suit) women on the beach but I figure it would be too much for some.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Dew et. But as a link, not as an embedded image.

You would make my winter so much bearable. Please do ... Let me put on my shades ...
Hopstretch Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 It's snowing again here in New England.
Beefy Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 We had a lot of really pleasant dry powder yesterday, and nice -5C temperatures. Went for a nice long walk, throwing snowballs at my lady. Today is warming up, and the snow is going to turn to rain. Blech!
n_maher Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 It's currently hovering right around 32F here and has been lightly snowing since I got up at 6:30. We've gotten maybe 3" so far with the threat of at least double that by tomorrow.
Old Pa Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 This morning with windchill -26F (NNE @ 9MPH). Colder than a mother-in-law's heart.
digger945 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 It's snowing again here in New England. That is wicked priceless, and the snowmobile/no parking sign on the side really completes the scene. We got a solid foot overnight. Really nice that my ex-husband-in-law has a plow and a brand new blower. Makes cleanup effortless.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 2, 2010 Author Report Posted January 2, 2010 Just finished doing the first round of shoveling - wasn't as bad as I expected, though I'm trying to ignore the fact that I'll need to shovel again later today and tomorrow.
deepak Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 Lots of snow. No mail because of it (expecting moar LPs) Not happy
The Monkey Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Has USPS been screwed up in NH the last few days?
deepak Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Has USPS been screwed up in NH the last few days? Today was the first time this season I haven't received mail due to the weather. Otherwise USPS has been fine, a bit slow but that's understandable.
Beefy Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Fucking snow indeed! I went for a walk to take some photos and grab a decent coffee. The snow didn't let up for a single photo. It got so bad I decided to catch the bus home. I was waiting in freezing rain for an hour waiting for a bus that didn't come; it got stuck in a snow drift. Next time, I'm going to bloody well stay home.
n_maher Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Has USPS been screwed up in NH the last few days? Not in my neck of the woods, but I have been out of the office since Wednesday. My mail lady was nice enough today to drive the mail up the driveway and put it inside the garage. I her. In bullshit weather news it's now winds as a mf'er here in NH. Tomorrow's forecast includes gusts up to 50mph. Yay.
Hopstretch Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 (edited) Snowed in with the kids for a second day. Wind is whipping outside and the chill is well below zero. Looks like I picked the wrong week etc. etc. Next time, I'm going to bloody well stay home. In Australia! Edited January 3, 2010 by Hopstretch
en480c4 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Shoveled. A lot. Despite the fact that the association hires a plow guy. Yup, nowhere to put the snow, plus bad angles for the plow means I shovel light snow before he plows or get stuck digging out heavy packed snow after he's blocked my spots half in.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Too cold to snow here right now, but it's freakin' windy. Last night (I looked it up): "Was: 17; Felt like: -1". Is: 24; Feels like: 8.
