thrice Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 biscuits and gravy...mmm biscuitville, how I love thee. We've got a little drive-through shack called Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen. Oh man, are they ever good.... warms your soul on a cold day. The sausage biscuit is just enough to get you going in the morning.
laxx Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 It's fucking cold here in NY. I woke up and it was 13 degrees and windy as a mother.
Old Pa Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Only the first day of winter and the "hat hair" is already being competitively scored. bah. -10F and clear as a bell.
grawk Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 When the roads are so bad it takes longer to walk, you know things are bad.
Smeggy Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 It's snowing again in Seattle, this is like a whole week now! It's not supposed to do that here.
Knuckledragger Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 snow wasn't the problem, but the layer of ice that developed was. somehow, despite this being forecasted several days ago, Cincinnati was unprepared. shocker! took me an hour to walk home from work. usually takes about 15 minutes (i take a university shuttle for part of it, but still). If walking takes that long, maybe you should try biking. ...I'll get my coat.
deepak Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 If walking takes that long, maybe you should try biking. ...I'll get my coat. You might need a helmet that protects you from shovels more than a coat
Old Pa Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Day after Christmas was up to 40F. Good for space management (shoveled snow compacted so more can be fit) but not walking. 80% of the spaniels' usual evening mile long walking route is now glare ice. And now it's snowing pretty good out there. Powder snow on glare ice = YEEEHAAAA!
Dusty Chalk Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 god-DAMN that is beautiful. The cold is almost palpable.
grawk Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 I always look at that and feel warmth This is the version of that location that feels cold to me:
deepak Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Mother fuck, 6" of snow tomorrow and I have to drive over an hour to the airport
n_maher Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Forecast for me is 3 to 5 or 6 to 9, depending on who you believe.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 I always look at that and feel warmth This is the version of that location that feels cold to me: Yeah, that one looks kinda cold, too, but not 'palpable'. The first one hits me that way because it's obvious that the dewpoint is such that any moisture in the air instantly condenses.
JBLoudG20 Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 We have 1-3 overnight, and 3-5 for tomorrow.
Smeggy Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 All ours vanished over the weekend and it's back to normal rainy shit here in Seattle. I miss the snow already
n_maher Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 It started here about an hour ago, looks pretty benign so far.
grawk Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 We got flurries for about a minute, then they stopped.
Salt Peanuts Posted December 31, 2008 Author Report Posted December 31, 2008 We've gotten about 2 inches already, with the worst yet to come.
Dusty Chalk Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 We got flurries for about a minute, then they stopped.x2
JBLoudG20 Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Still pretty bad here. We have a good 4" or so, and its till coming down.
n_maher Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Yup around 4" on the ground here as well. City streets are a mess.
