Beefy Posted April 11, 2022 Report Posted April 11, 2022 Well, this looks promising, Manitoba storm could be 'worst blizzard in decades,' Environment Canada says. High estimates are about 45 cm (18") of snow. And I don't think we're even getting the worst of it, going to be worse to the south. Last I saw, snowfall in Grand Forks ND could exceed 80 cm (32")! 4 5

n_maher Posted November 17, 2022 Report Posted November 17, 2022 Ayup. Down here on the coast we’re just getting misery rain, defined by me as when it’s sub-40, raining, and so windy as to render an umbrella useless (horizontal rain). I had to tour some folks around yesterday and it was properly nasty outside. Slightly better today with flurries in the forecast so it would appear there’s a chance of winter arriving this year. 1 3
skullguise Posted November 17, 2022 Report Posted November 17, 2022 "Misery Rain" is a great and quite applicable term, Nate. That shit just digs into your bones! 2
morphsci Posted November 17, 2022 Report Posted November 17, 2022 I would much rather have snow over the nasty rain. I actually enjoyed shoveling the driveway. First time in at least seven years. Not sure how long the enjoyment will last. 3 1 1
Pars Posted November 17, 2022 Report Posted November 17, 2022 Toto, I don't think we're in Florida anymore... 1 2
swt61 Posted November 17, 2022 Report Posted November 17, 2022 Since it's pegged, it surely will drop at a rapid pace. It's been 21 years since I shoveled snow, and I'd be quite content to go at least another 21. I did have 40 years of shoveling bliss after all. Time to let someone else have some of the fun. 1
n_maher Posted February 4, 2023 Report Posted February 4, 2023 Tomorrow's high - 45F. Today, not so much... 4 1
skullguise Posted February 4, 2023 Report Posted February 4, 2023 Stay warm, Nate (and everyone else up here)! We did fine overnight...Karen turned up the thermostat temp "just in case" and I ended up waking up several times because it was too hot.....ALMOST cracked a window 🙄 5
morphsci Posted February 4, 2023 Report Posted February 4, 2023 Right now it’s -14 in Northfield with a wind chill of -32. But then we are having a high in the mid 30s tomorrow, so almost a 50 degree swing in about 24 hours. Pretty Crazy. 5
