Dusty Chalk Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 We were on storm watch all day today, and nuthin' happened.
aerius Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 We were on storm watch all day today, and nuthin' happened. We're supposed to get something like a foot of snow by tomorrow evening. I'm betting we'll be lucky to get 3-4 inches, Toronto for some reason never gets snow. We're basically in a snow shadow, go half an hour from Toronto in any direction and there's 1-2 feet of snow while in Toronto we get a light dusting that can be swept off with a broom. Very disappointing.
n_maher Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Well, it's already coming down here. Guess I won't be going to the office today...
Salt Peanuts Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 It's been coming down steadily for a while here, about 30 miles west of Boston. I really should go out and shovel some.
n_maher Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 I dunno Haj, sometimes with storms like this I almost think you're better off just waiting. Leave some of the snow to soak up the sleet and freezing rain later so stuff doesn't turn into a skating rink.
Salt Peanuts Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 Ahh, good point, Nate. I had forgotten that it's turning into sleet/freezing rain in the afternoon. Any excuse to delay the shoveling is welcome.
JBLoudG20 Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Yup, coming down nice in CT. I was suppsoed to go to a graduation party today. I sure hope he still doesnt have it, cause I'll feel bed canceling, considering hes about 2 minutes away in my neightborhood.
n_maher Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 My driveway is somewhere in there... 1
en480c4 Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Now I'm worlds of pissed. I spent over an hour shoveling my driveway, and an hour later I went back out and cleaned things up after the plow went by. I showered and was getting ready to go out and grab some food and my dipshit fucking neighbor tried backing a Saturn out without shoveling. So now he's stuck at an angle, blocking me in and as he's trying to shovel out in the dark, he's spreading snow across the area I went out of my way to clear completely. So almost an hour later I'm still fucked because some fucking douchebag had his head up his ass. Fucker must be brain-dead thinking he wasn't going to get stuck without digging out first.
Salt Peanuts Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 Man, sorry to hear that Ian. Next time it snows heavily, you should 'boot' his car beforehand so he won't be able to move at all. On a related note, it took me about little under two hours to shovel my car out earlier. As I was shoveling, I saw few folks getting yelled/lectured by the town's public works folks for shoveling snow from their driveway on to the street.
n_maher Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 I'm putting off the pain that will be clearing the driveway. I think tomorrow morning sounds like a good time to take care of it. Ian, did you at least yell at the asshole?

n_maher Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Took around an hour and forty five minutes to clear the driveway this morning. Nothing like 10" of snow topped with a 1/2" thick ice crust. It wasn't quite thick enough to walk on but made life hell for the snow blower.
socrates63 Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 An hour and forty-five minutes and this is with a snow blower? Shites! Damn, Nate. Everytime I see pics of your place, it's so picturesque. Sorry about the snow though . As for Seattle? It's raining in the city and the suburbs. Only recently has been there been heavy snow accumulation in the mountains. Most of the ski resorts recently opened but aren't able to operate all their lifts yet.
Genetic Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 http://www.carnetsdimages.org/blogol/Images/grosseneige20.jpg Yes!!!! I'm leaving my car under the snow until next summer.... For a guy who hates winter....we are still in automn for a few days. Amicalement
JBLoudG20 Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 I jsut spent two hours scraping our back walk. Snow rules, Ice sucks.
Spiug31 Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 no snow here, its still too warm 6 degrees Celsius and 79% humidity. I am enjoying the photos though I'm in Scotland

Yeah, I drive by fucktards all the time that snowblow their driveway out into the street! Glad your public works people yelled at the idiots...
philodox Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 I just saw this little italian lady get dropped off a bus right into a snow drift... she was not happy.
tyrion Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 I don't know what all the complaining is about, we have a real weather crisis, the temp dropped into the 50's. Now we have to decide what sweater to wear everyday. What a pita.

Genetic Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 When we get 50 degrees, I have to figure out what shorts to wear. You lived in the great north, right?.....by now you must have freaking hairy legs... Amicalement
