grawk Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 homeowners insurance should cover the lost food
Salt Peanuts Posted February 7, 2016 Author Report Posted February 7, 2016 ^ I'll keep that in mind. Thankfully, this happened before we did our weekly grocery shopping so what we lost was very minimal - the fridge needed cleaning out anyways.
guzziguy Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 Glad you have your power back on, Haj!
Salt Peanuts Posted February 7, 2016 Author Report Posted February 7, 2016 Looks like we are getting another 8-10 inches tomorrow. Joy.
skullguise Posted February 8, 2016 Report Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) Jesuit Christmas....! Don't check weather reports for a day or so, and 1-3" turns into 5-8" My son may get a 4-day weekend out of this.... EDIT: we got the call tonight, no school tomorrow..... Salt Peanuts Posted February 9, 2016 Author Report Posted February 9, 2016 We had a snow day yesterday as well - it was nice to have an extra day to unwind after 30 hour power outage. Today, my work has a 2-hour delayed start, the first one in years. It'll be interesting to see how this works out. 2
Mister X Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Meh, guess pushing it through a foot high drift was more then the handle could handle.
Knuckledragger Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 Here in scenic western MA, it's winter ...again.
Grand Enigma Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 Sucky in NJ too... woke up to a dusting of snow, enough to have to clean off the car. Then turned to even more sucky rain, now hail/snow.
n_maher Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 ^^ Yup, lots of early spring flowers taking it on the chin today. We got 2+ here, just enough to make me wonder if it's worth clearing the driveway to avoid the 3 days of shit that will result if I don't. Rain Thursday and near 60 Friday have me thinking it's not worth the hassle.
skullguise Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 Nate, you just missed a 3-5" band that came a little South of you. I think we got about 4" here. Cold for a few days, so I will have to clear some of this out
tkam Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 Calling for 2-4" overnight through tomorrow, where the fuck did spring go??
Dusty Chalk Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 If you got kicked in the carpels and stamins enough times, wouldn't you leave?
n_maher Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 9 hours ago, tkam said: Calling for 2-4" overnight through tomorrow, where the fuck did spring go?? It's like winter never really showed up but now won't leave. 1
Grahame Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 It snowed (off and on) last night, in Chicago, to remind visitors why it is we don't live here 3
dsavitsk Posted October 27, 2016 Report Posted October 27, 2016 A week ago we sat outside in short sleeves for dinner. It appears that my grand plan for doing something with those piles of bricks this summer is going to wait until next summer. 6
n_maher Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 What's funny is that two hours north it simply rained.
swt61 Posted October 28, 2016 Report Posted October 28, 2016 Was 85° today. At current time (8:30 pm) it's 75°. 1
Craig Sawyers Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 About 50F here in the UK, and looking to cool down during November with night frosts and snow on high ground. Texas (30N) is on the same latitude as Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The UK (51-53N) corresponds to Southern Alaska. Factoid No:47b 1
morphsci Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 Daytona Beach, 29.2N, now 79F, high today 82F. Life does not suck here. Also there is THIS 3
Voltron Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 I knew Jim was going to enjoy rubbing it in once the snow flew! 3
morphsci Posted October 29, 2016 Report Posted October 29, 2016 I put in my time. 12 years in Illinois and the previous 2 in South Dakota. 1
