Salt Peanuts Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 ^ Same here - and I threw my back out a bit shoveling this piddly 3" of snow.
Augsburger Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 We have 80 degree weather + earthquakes + huge brush fires. You have freezing temps with no earthquakes and your neighborhood never resembles Hades. I think that is a push.
Voltron Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 What if you factor in the rattlesnakes? 1
Augsburger Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Well yeah, there's that too. Bet you people in the Midwest never think twice about walking outside at night barefoot.
grawk Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 bitching about too much snow is a humble brag, from my perspective anyway.
n_maher Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 Sorry Dan. I'd bet there's somewhere near a solid 3' of snow over my entire yard at this point with drifts that are another 12" or so deeper. Buildings at work are starting to have major issues as well due to the combination of snow and ice. We had to evacuate one office earlier today and I expect to make the call on an entire facility tomorrow. If we the rain that they are predicting on Friday it could get very ugly.
n_maher Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 We've officially crossed over to the dark side - I just drove through a thunderstorm complete with blinding rain. Everything is a huge mess.
shellylh Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Sheez, hope you get a break at some point Nate.
n_maher Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Today was beautiful, for this time of year anyway. Sunny, highs in the mid to upper 40s, no more than a light wind. So my wife and I dropped the kids at my parents house and went skiing. That part of snow I don't mind one bit. 2
acidbasement Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 I got the car stuck in the driveway for something like the fourth time this winter yesterday. Took me about two hours to dig it out. It was awesome.
acidbasement Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 I just went outside and my face nearly froze off. -24 C with reasonably high winds. The end of February is supposed to be milder than this.
Aura Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 We supposedly will hit a low of -2 F/-18 C tonight. Slipped on ice walking home from the gym today and straight fell on my ass at the edge of a curb as cars drove by at 30 mph. My feet were probably less than 2 feet from their tires as they drove by. I could have broken my tailbone and/or been run over. Thankfully I was able to laugh it off after I got up. Had very little to laugh about this winter.
Absorbine_Sr Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 And don't forget Bryan, they are saying we may get 10" of snow this weekend. Fuck off winter. 1
jvlgato Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 Holy shit. I thought it was 14 degrees just now, until I read this and looked closer ... it's 1.4 degrees! Yes, this winter sucks. Glad you're ok, Bryan. Mike, thanks for the good news!
MexicanDragon Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 G'luck, guys. Here's what we're looking at getting down here this week. **BRENT**
Grand Enigma Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 Thank you winter. 45F earlier in the week, now snow yesterday and this, this morning.
acidbasement Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 -39 C here right now. This is a bit much.
tkam Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 They are calling for 6-10" here in Pittsburgh from Sunday thru Monday. My vacation was supposed to start Monday with a flight at 11am. Yeah just changed that to Sunday at 8am - should get out just in time. 1
acidbasement Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Overnight forecast of -38 here, with windchill equivalent to -51 by morning.
Voltron Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Overnight forecast of -38 here, with windchill equivalent to -51 by morning. Are you on Earth? 3
acidbasement Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Heh, my wife is in Saskatoon tonight. The windchill there is expected to be -64 in the morning
skullguise Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Warm wishes for you and your wife Iain! Stay safe..... Always think of the movie Slapshot and the song "A Little Bit South Of Saskatoon" whenever I hear that city's name.
