nelamvr6 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Interesting news on several levels. Here's a link to the story. I really like Gavin's drumming, and it would be really interesting to hear him with King Crimson, but I really hope he doesn't leave Porcupine Tree permanently!
nelamvr6 Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 hmmm. i thought they had already spent some time in the studio for their new album, are they going to start over, now? Hard telling... the way Fripp records, there's simply no knowing what has already been recorded... He may very well have not recorded the drum parts, or even have different drummers already recorded. Or maybe Gavin won't be on the record but on the tour...
nelamvr6 Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 or maybe what has already been put down was just frippertronics. The only thing I can say for certain is that I really want to hear it!
deepak Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Mad man Fripp + Harrison should make for some sweet improv stuff Come on ProjeKct XI!
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 And Park West is where I've seen them the last two times. This should be very interesting. As for recordings, the Fripp/Belew nexus have recorded tons of stuff that later was dropped, evolved into ProjeKct stuff or was later recycled for Crim. So having most of an album in the bag will be no impedement to Uncle Bob.
aerius Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 For some reason I read the tread title as "George Harrison", and I was like isn't George dead? And since when did he play drums? I think I inhaled too much solder fumes today.
postjack Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 You know there is so much King Crimson stuff. All the CC stuff on DGM makes me dizzy. I have the 4 Projekts though, they are amazing.
