mjg
Since I already have a pair of rs-1s, anyone think it would be worth owning a set of these too? Anyone want to compare them and stuff? How are they different?
tkam
Since you already have RS-1's I doubt they'd be worth getting.

mjg
was just curious on what or fi im missin anythign out... ive had ms2i's i digged a lot in the past... have ms1's too which sound pretty awesome out of my main rig too. Last I had a pair of hp1000s I had / heard was when I had an ray samuels hr2. I just didn't think it sounded terrific at the time... Maybe i'll try them again if i can find a cheaper pair. The ones I had were hp1s if it mattered at all.
n_maher
I'm not sure there's such a thing as a cheap pair of HP Grados these days.
mjg
If I could grab a pair for 900 bux or less i'd do it ; )

mjg
heh, actually i didnt hear about it until this dood was telling me about the headfi meet. I imagined something simialr to vodka and red bull, in a can... the lazy scumbag tendancies i have drew me to the conveniance of the idea. wow, was so grossssss. I usually drink vodka red bulls or whatever. Yet my boy does live against this awesome pretentious type beer place where u can buy those big like 22 ounce bottles for 15 bux each that ahve german weird shit on them or whatever. Stuff like u and grawk like. I got this beer called tusker a few times... had some last night. Its made in africa, freeking awesome. I think it's made by real elephants so u know it's good. Try it out some time
mjg
could be... i guess they might be canibals. For real tho it's a beer, i dig it.... i also liked this south hampton brewery pumpkin ale.
mjg
yea this place is so funny, we go in there and the guy keeps talking at us, we cant udnerstand a word he is saying, but he thinks he's giving us beer advice so we just nod at him. We tried this one bottle that looked like a champagne bottle he recommended to us, it was nasty sounding reminded me of like blue moon which i hate. Usually the fancy beer is just too heavy to me. Anyway not sure how popular or hard it is to get... can u order beer online or something?

Salt Peanuts
mjg, in the off chance you haven't read it, below is the link to the Google cache of Kuma's comparative review of RS-1/MS-Pro. http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:zM_TSxFJtOIJ:www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php%3Ft%3D44456&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3&gl=us&client=safari
philodox
I thought they sounded pretty near to identical at a recent meet. Looser101, who did in the end decide on buying the Ms-Pro's, agreed. As did the RS-1 owner, Fierce_Freak.

aerius
bump, any impressions please? They're exactly the same, yet completely different. It's like the Senn 580 & 600, exactly the same, but totally different. Or like the K340 & K340, same, yet different. Or crack & cocaine, same, but different. Or... philodox
Yeah, except in this case they are the same but the same. Except that the Ms-Pro looks better and is cheaper in Canada.
JBLoudG20
Or... Billy and mjg. OR postjack and boy george. OR PFK and Mr. Rogers. Or ...
Salt Peanuts
Except that the Ms-Pro looks better.... Assuming they haven't gone through the transformation the RS-1 has gone through - anyone wanna take one for the team and buy one new just to see? philodox
I'm pretty sure they haven't, but that is a good point.
mjg
i saw this ebay guy has a pair and he seems legit. I know it's usually a pain to order these... the money isnt burning a hole in my pocket for 700 retail, but id just kinda wanna know what the grass is like on the other side. I guess for 700 new, i'll wait for a used pair to come along... Kuma's review sort of made me think i wouldnt like them. I like bass, and I do like forward sound, but I did love the ms2i's. I know neutral isnt always better.
fierce_freak
There are only subtle differences between the two, based on my listening impressions from the mini-meet philodox mentioned. I thought they sounded a touch more dry (I think Jay used the term clean), but really not big enough of a difference to own both.
