Elephas Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 The HE90 is one of the best, if not the best, headphone I've heard. I'm currently using a Stax plug adapter to connect it to a HeadAmp KGSS.
tom_hankins Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I have to admit. they are as close to perfection in a headphone as I have heard. they are magic with the matching HEV90 amp and I think slightly better with the ES-1. IMO better than anything out there....stat or dynamic.
granodemostasa Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 what's with all these random threads lately? in any case... hella yea. the only headphone that can make me cry and get into the music as if it were live.
mjg Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 i never cried because of music. yet, if an he90 made me cry, i'd wanna go on prozac (no offense).
philodox Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 i never cried because of music. yet, if an he90 made me cry, i'd wanna go on prozac (no offense).Somebody dead inside?
mjg Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 i know he probably didn't cry over the music... i was just being funny I guess (but the idea is a bit disturbing). Maybe if something special happened, like the yankees disbanded, and infinite 0 calorie snickers.

I'm currently using a Stax plug adapter to connect it to a HeadAmp KGSS. I feel the same way. What's SN on your HE90? Mine is SN #129. What do you think of the HE-90 vs. O2 vs. R10? When will your Supra XLR arrives? I have to admit. they are as close to perfection in a headphone as I have heard. they are magic with the matching HEV90 amp and I think slightly better with the ES-1. Although the R10 might have better midrange and bigger soundstage, but on everything else the HE90 wins.
spritzer Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Nahh they aren't that good.... It's been way too long since I used mine...
granodemostasa Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Heartless yankee hating thug who can't read hyperbole
spritzer Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 His is from the Jan Meier buys. Does anybody know how many phones there really were in the Jan Meier sale? I think there were at least 20.
Nanoha Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I forgot what the price was during the Jan Meier group buy. Anyone know?
purk Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I forgot what the price was during the Jan Meier group buy. Anyone know? I believe it was 5 or 6K.
Nanoha Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 $7k iirc I believe it was 5 or 6K. Haha whoa, big disparity there.
purk Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Haha whoa, big disparity there. Sorry I am not sure either. I thought that I read some where that it was around 6K.
Nanoha Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Ooh, I think I found the answer. No.. they are $6.5k-$8k, the last nice pair sold for $7.9k NOS (which is what I have) a few months ago. You'd be hard pressed (well, I was anyways) to find one for $5k nowadays, even if from the Jan Meier batch where all 18 were accounted for in one day last summer for $5500 to Americans (~$6500 to Europeans) shipped. The $7.9k NOS one was one of these 18, just that it was never opened for a year. So there were 18.
spritzer Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 It was around 5.5k$ but the wait was priceless. I didn't get mine till January 2006...
hirsch Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 US pricing for the Meier group buy was $5K. Given current pricing, I should have bought a spare or two...
tkam Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 Yeah the meier group buy price was $5k, the current going rate is about $7k+ though.
purk Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 US pricing for the Meier group buy was $5K. Given current pricing, I should have bought a spare or two... I believe Akwok sold his for more than 8.5K. Recently, there was the Orpheus System on audiogon sold for 25k. That is crazy. Given the going rate of the R10 are b/w 4.5k to 6k, that isn't a bad price for the HE90.

Given the going rate of the R10 are b/w 4.5k to 6k, that isn't a bad price for the HE90. Somebody paid 25k$ for that!!! I've been offered way more then 8k$ for mine but I passed.
purk Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?accstwek&1197669094 Yes....it has been sold. I contacted the seller just to see how much he actually want, but he told me that I need to offer more than 25K for the combo b/c he had a deal pending for the Orpheus system then.
saint.panda Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 I sold mine for 8k (bought them used for 6.7) and there were around 3 buyers willing to pay that much. Diminishing returns and all that, but I do think they're worth it. Obviously not perfect, but just really really good.
spritzer Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 There really is a sucker born every minute...
