boomana Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 esw9 px-100 well that was easy And they sound good.
Asr Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 although I like K701 myself, but I never thought it would be > than HD800 My ranking is only my opinion you know. I simply found that I preferred the K701 more than the HD800 when I compared them. Wow, the X10 is that bad? I should add that the AD2K is like the headphone that can only be pried from the death grip of my cold dead hands! X10 is more like yeah I like it, not bad, but I could do without it too if I had to (well, the essential functional purpose of an IEM aside).

knopi Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Hm I had chance to try AD2000 for two days and want them a lot, I thought this hobby is never-ending story but this is my dream headphones for my needs and going to buy one. MS-Pro is very unique headphones. They are really amazing with a specific music and therefore I am so happy for them but no good for all unfortunatelly maybe my source is problem who know. Fight between my portable UM3X and ESW9 is pretty hard they are very different but I prefer UM3X they are often very fun. -Audio Technica AD2000 -Alessandro MS-Pro -Westone UM3X -Audio Technica ESW9

jinp6301 Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 And they sound good. Yup. I really like both of them
mypasswordis Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 I don't have my final headphones yet but will list anyway since I'm almost there. Order will likely change at some point too, but as of now: - Audio-Technica AD2000 - Sony Qualia 010 - Stax SR-X MKIII - Stax OII MKI - AKG K701 - Sennheiser HD800 (if I had to rank it) - Audio-Technica ES7 - Klipsch X10 Two comments: 1) You need to try an SR-X Pro 2) I need to try an AD2000 ... 3) Time for my monthly/bimonthly PM to Carl for some Stax goodies
peepee-king Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 I haven't owned too many headphones, but I'd have to say my K601s > SR225 > SR80 > K701 > KSC35.

DefectiveAudioComponent Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Tricky.... These three are in the top spot: And the HD580. Then there is this great german headcan: For portable, this goes on top: If I actually have to use it while being portable: This one is the most annoying to mod: Followed by the Eagle: This one is pretty good for being cheap and closed and isolating: This one should be really good but the cable is curly and short: Then there are the Philips HP910 and HP890. Both fine dynamic cans.

Spiug31 Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 Chocolate donut MkII > balanced hd650 the donut has slap, puts me in the music and is far more enjoyable. hd650 is a bit reserved and presents most sound as too distant.
swt61 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Wow, from almost selling them to ranking them over 650s. What made the difference for you?
Spiug31 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 Wow, from almost selling them to ranking them over 650s. What made the difference for you? adding a wire for signal ground to my beta22s' left attenuator (so both attenuators now connect to signal ground). After this had time to settle it's a far better amp and the donuts love it

After this had time to settle it's a far better amp and the donuts love it Yeah, My balanced β22/Donut MkII combo was awesome. They really do need the power, and I think even more importantly the neutrality of an amp like the β22. Great to hear you're happy with them. I hope your neighbor Duggeh gets to hear them with your amp one day.

Headphone Dreamer LD Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 My experience with Headphones apart from Sennheiser is ''0'', so please forgive my limited knowledge in general guys' 1) Sennheiser HD800's Which will be in my hands as of Tuesday-11th August....looking forward to a long listening test....at home before I go to work.....I FEEL LIKE A KID ABOUT TO RECEIVE A NEW TOY 2) Sennheiser HD650's with standard cable, but this will hopefully change as of this week when I take delivery of ''The Kimber Kable upgrade''. 3) Sennheiser HD600's with ''Kimber Kable'' not sure if they sound better than the 650's or not, hard to tell but then again I havn't been able to test these against the 650's for some time, as the lead broke on the right side.....I will truly be glad when all of my quality leads arrive before Friday-14th August. I have to admit that I am happy with Sennheiser headphones, and shall look forward to purchasing a decent headphone amp when available funds come along. Thanks to a number of members who have given myself helpful advice, as I deeply appreciate their time. Honest Regards
