deepak Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I assume frontpanelexpress.com is who I want to use if I want a 3.5"x2" engraved faceplate made for my amp? I'm messing around with their software right now, any tips? Thanks
deepak Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 my name goes on it. Yes... I'll be making a separate one just for that

Fred333 Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 I would look around the net. You could do some comparison shopping.

soloz2 Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 I'm looking into custom end pannels for my Millet Max and I believe that things remembered will be cheaper than frontpanel express. They'll let you drill everything before they engrave as well.
bhd812 Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 Good God you're terrible. dude...hahahahaha this guy is so fucking with us!
bhjazz Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 ftgdmfomgwtfBBQw BBQ? With a faceplate??? COOL!!!
Edwood Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 You can ask FPE for samples, so you can see what the various engravings and dyes look like. But yeah, FPE is pretty amateur looking stuff, but at least you don't get raped on set up fees.

Thanks for mentioning this
bhjazz Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 One drawback for fpe is their single font. I think it looks fine, but if you want, say, a different font, no dice. Unless they've corrected that now, which would be cool.

If you want something that they don't have, you could always create it in some other software and save in HPGL format and then import into FPE.

Brilliant! Thank you!
n_maher Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Front Panel Express FTW! That's friggen hilarious!
Salt Peanuts Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Digging up an old thread, but how is frontpanelexpress' turnaround time (and cost) for faceplate? I'm thinking of getting one made for my beta22 (and for its PS), assuming I can figure out their design software and other details out.

I'm thinking of getting one made for my beta22 (and for its PS), assuming I can figure out their design software and other details out. I was reasonably happy with their turnaround with my front panel, tho I don't remember exactly how long it took. They do nice work, too.
Smeggy Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 My turnaround was pretty quick, I've had a few things made by them. I have another couple of things on the burner still to go.
swt61 Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 It seems like it took about a week and a half for mine. Their software is pretty easy, just play around for a bit until you figure it out.
Salt Peanuts Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Cool. I guess I'll go play around with their software. Of course, I'd still have to take off the current front panel from the beta22, which I hope won't be too hard.

Salt Peanuts Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 You have friends who can help with that, Haj. Good point - at least the panel for the power supply is real easy to take off as there's really nothing attached to it.
