swt61 Posted January 23, 2021 Report Posted January 23, 2021 I finally started watching this series, and there are a lot of faces I didn't expect to see. Michael B. Jordan, Idris Elba, but the one that really surprised me was Ashy Larry from the Chappell Show. It started a bit slow, but I like the steady climb as apposed to just blowing shit up and shooting people. Good characters. 4
MexicanDragon Posted January 24, 2021 Report Posted January 24, 2021 I've watched it since the pre-Steve posts and never posted in here, but it was a great show; really enjoyed it.
robm321 Posted January 24, 2021 Report Posted January 24, 2021 (edited) Same. Watched it a year ago, gave up on it once during season 1 then made it all the way through on second attempt. Great characters and series. Edited January 24, 2021 by robm321
Grahame Posted January 25, 2021 Report Posted January 25, 2021 Joanne and I finally watched the entire 16:9 run thanks to HBO. Plenty of Brits in the cast, trapped in "The Game" and the system. As I may have mentioned, Charlie "Black Mirror" Brooker was a big fan. "A searing work of bloody genius, yeah" 2
swt61 Posted January 25, 2021 Report Posted January 25, 2021 Damn! Season 3 has the "big man", Clarence Clemons. 2
shellylh Posted January 26, 2021 Report Posted January 26, 2021 It took me a while to get into The Wire when I first started watching since they do develop the characters slowly. But then I was hooked. One of the best tv series ever! Now I just need to get Yumi to watch it. Omar!!! 4
jp11801 Posted January 26, 2021 Report Posted January 26, 2021 the wire it a top three series of all time for me!! Love me some Omar 1
grawk Posted January 26, 2021 Report Posted January 26, 2021 the wire is a great optimistic look at life in Baltimore 1
blessingx Posted January 26, 2021 Report Posted January 26, 2021 Optimistic compared to John Waters' Baltimore.
grawk Posted January 26, 2021 Report Posted January 26, 2021 John Waters was my favorite thing about Baltimore. I met him at a screening of the Hateful Eight. 2
Fitz Posted January 26, 2021 Report Posted January 26, 2021 I should probably get around to watching the Wire one of these days, huh. 1
