postjack Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 October 10th is the download date and the album comes out in physical form some time early next year. www.inrainbows.com i'm not the biggest radiohead, but I believe in what they are doing. I placed my preorder for the digital download last week. I paid 3 pounds (6 bucks). If its any good, I'll buy the discbox, which ships Dec. 3, according to the website (I thought it was originally slated for later this month?). I hope this is what we are moving towards. Who the hell needs record companies? Basically all they are is overpaid promoters who don't even like music. fuck 'em, straight from artist to the consumer, I love it.
humanflyz Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 The Discbox is pre-ordered, but I have no turntable, but that just gives me an excuse to get a vinyl setup

humanflyz Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 werd. what table are you looking at? they say that vinyl is king. It depends on how much money I can sell my Esoteric for. But most likely a VPI Scout
postjack Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 It depends on how much money I can sell my Esoteric for. But most likely a VPI Scout badass.
humanflyz Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 badass. I like to dive into things, audio or otherwise, with both feet.
postjack Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I like to dive into things, audio or otherwise, with both feet. yeah, no need to stick ones toe in the pool of vinyl, since turntables are a pain in the ass to ship. might as well just buy a high end table and be happy. and yes I realize I have a $400 direct drive turntable whose design has remained unchanged since the late 70s.
deepak Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Arrrgh why is new vinyl so expensive Year Zero Fear of a Blank Planet (either the standard edition or the LE) Radiohead discbox set anything by Boris all so much money
grawk Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Because anyone buying vinyl in 2007 obviously has more money than sense?
mirumu Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I'm going for the Discbox too. I like the idea of what they're doing. Hopefully whatever they lose in sales price they'll more than make back in ditching the record company.

mirumu Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Hater I'm pretty sure you can get it for free legally Yeah, I think you can do a 0 pound donation and they'll still give you access. I like the all CAPS theme of this new album It's a concept album about Nigerian spam.
Chekhonte Posted October 9, 2007 Author Report Posted October 9, 2007 I put down 0 pounds and it went through with out a hitch.
deepak Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 Yeah, I think you can do a 0 pound donation and they'll still give you access. It's a concept album about Nigerian spam. I refused a donation because of their damn moon currency. Bastards
mirumu Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I refused a donation because of their damn moon currency. Bastards Welcome to my world. I couldn't boycott moon currencies since virtually nowhere online deals in NZ$. I have URLs for at least three different currency conversion sites memorized and can generally do a semi-accurate conversions in my head involving US dollars, the Japanese Yen, the pound and the euro. I don't really know why more sites don't just auto adjust based on your locale. Damn parochialism.
deepak Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I just preordered the discbox, since they let you cancel at any time before it ships.
