I'm mixed on this, it's horrible on one hand, but at the same time Hamas hides behind civilians anyway, including in or near schools and hospitals....even firing weapons from those locations into Israel.

I will always support Israel, but this (really Netanyahu and his actions) have me questioning SOME of that support.  I truly wish there was another way to break out Hamas from the civilian population and deal with them separately.

One thing that does provide some comfort is that a big group of Israeli's want him out, and have been protesting in some very large numbers.  Even members of the military have been organizing against him (not as a coup, but in protest).

What I have not seen is any Palestinian civilians protesting Hamas government.  Maybe they can't in fear of violence or death, but that also says a lot to me (before the fallout after October 7th, who was more oppressive to Palestinian civilians?).  And many of those civilians cheered and spit on corpses of murdered and raped Israeli's being paraded through Gaza.

Man, have I missed out on all the fun here?  I have no excuse, my home office serves double-duty as my blast shelter, so even when my windows shake from Iron Dome detonations I can certainly post.

I can't share all the tea here on an open forum, but I'll make a point to pop by and represent the USG perspective on what is going on.  This is obviously a subject that arouses very strong feelings in many (myself included), but as a paid propagandist working in exactly this area I think I'm uniquely qualified to stick my neck out.

We, the Brits with the USA, did precisely that to Dresden in February 1945. 1000 bombers in 5

waves. Lancasters and Flying Fortresses.

https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/apocalypse-dresden-february-1945

The total dead is only an estimate because so many civilians were burnt to ash in the resulting firestorms.

We achieved that carnage in a mere 2 days.

History does not speak kindly to this, and similar raids on civilian centres in WWII.

Very scary and sad.  Even as a Jew, I can't support this.  Hamas needs to be gone, but so does the right wing in Israel....

God forbid if Trump wins.  Aside from all the other Hell we'd get, he'll let Netanyahu do whatever he'd like!

Trump is the only person that can stop things escalating to WW3.

He may not be a politician, but he seems to get things done.

He would neve have done what Biden/Harris did in pulling out of a country while there were still American citizens in the country, and leave behind all the weapons and vehicles for the enemy to takeup.

😠

Regarding your last statement, Trump was the one who initiated the agreement with the Taliban for the US to withdraw by May 2021: https://www.axios.com/2021/08/20/trump-taliban-agreement-doha-biden

Art of the deal my ass...

Right, so let's say Donny ends this - by giving in to Russian demands and giving them land concessions and blocking Ukraine from EU/Nato membership. How is that going to be seen in any way but a Western loss? How will this discourage Putin from going further? Already Georgia has a pro-Russian puppet government and brewing civic unrest, and have we already forgotten what happened there in 2008?

It's a shit sandwitch any way you slice it. Keep the war going, more people die. End the war, Putin gets a dub, the West gets an L on its record, while Putin starts another conflict and more people die. Those are your choices, folks, and I fail to see how the Very Stable Genius makes this any better.

Amnesty International’s report on Israel/Occupied Palestinian Territory

“This report documents Israel’s actions during its offensive on the occupied Gaza Strip from 7 October 2023. It examines the killing of civilians, damage to and destruction of civilian infrastructure, forcible displacement, the obstruction or denial of life-saving goods and humanitarian aid, and the restriction of power supplies. It analyses Israel’s intent through this pattern of conduct and statements by Israeli decision-makers. It concludes that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.”
