tkam Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I finally started watching BSG two weeks ago and I just finished watching the end of season 3 over the weekend. It's a damn amazing show I can't wait for season 4 to start in February.
postjack Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I envy you. I would love to go back and watch it all over again. Such a fantastic show. Lots of good characters, but I think Baltar is the best.

tkam Posted September 25, 2007 Author Report Posted September 25, 2007 Yeah I thought about just renting or buying them on dvd, but I ended up just downloading them. I'll be buying them on HD-DVD when they come out. I think season 1 is hitting HD-DVD in december.

This week has so many Season beginning shows like House and CSI
deepak Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I've got a few friends hooked on BSG, it's my favorite show on TV right now.
riceboy Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I've got a few friends hooked on BSG, it's my favorite show on TV right now. Oh no. Another vote by deepak. Now I just gotta see this show.
en480c4 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
postjack Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 whoops, actually I just remembered that Tigh was always my favorite, because he is an insane drunk who makes horrible decisions. watching him across those three seasons is like a slow motion train wreck, so awesome.
n_maher Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 No spoilers please, I've this whole show (3 seasons) cued up and ready to go soon. Now that I've got it so that I can watch downloaded content in high-def in the living room I imagine I'll get to this and a few other shows that I didn't want to watch on the computer.
deepak Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. Identity theft, serious business
en480c4 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 how's this for a spoiler? the cylons don't like the humans. How's this for a spoiler, you will die alone! [/Triumph, TCID}
jinp6301 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica. same thing I was thinking when I saw the title of this thread
deepak Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I really hope this is a joke: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33862 And some bad news: There are 20 episodes in the final season and the plan now from Sci-Fi is to show 10 of them in Feb. of 2008 and then wait until Feb. of 2009 to show the final 10! Needless to say, the large crowd at the panel was not pleased considering the 18-month gap we are already enduring.
tkam Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 It probably is true I've heard this rumor for awhile now. It's not as huge of a deal as you'd think though. As long as SKY in the UK doesn't split it up like that we'll be able to happily download the 2nd half of the season well before sci-fi channel shows them.

Yeah most people have been saying SkyHD will broadcast them normally. I have high hopes for season 4, not so sure about the Pegasus mini-series.
deepak Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 right, it's not like i'm actually watching it on TV, anyway I like watching them in full HD on cable. For BSG the HR-HD rips only leaked out a while after the season had started. And the normal HDTV rips look like crap on 1080p
deepak Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 you aren't getting the right HDTV rips No trust me I was. The HR-HD rips took a lot longer than the regular HD rips to go up, which usually went up just after the show ended. Plus those HR rips were something like 1.2 GB per episode
deepak Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 i know a place that has put raw rips up, in the past, so you still aren't getting the right ones. hopefully they do so again for the upcoming season. If I was downloading uncompressed .ts files I think someone from Comcast would show up at my house and sabotage my line
deepak Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 stupid comcast roadrunner might suck in general, but i've never hit anykind of bandwidth limit, and i download a ton of shit. and with that, i am going to bed, because it's nearly 6 AM. i think i'll be skipping my morning class, dontcha know. Oh I never had a bandwidth limit either and I've never received a letter. But still I didn't want to push my luck I've read that Comcast bases usage based on your area, so if you're in a geriatric neighborhood you could download to your hearts content. But my apartment complex was mostly Dartmouth pg/med students so I'm pretty sure that area would have seen heavy use.
laxx Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 I remember reading that alot of you head-fi'ers were big fans of BSG, so I figured I give it a shot and WOW. This show is great.
jinp6301 Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 he called us headfiers? WHERES THE BAN STICK!!! kidding
