September 14, 200718 yr comment_50246 Well I didn't get that squeezebox, but I did pick one up. I'm surprised at how good the analog out is. I mean I wasn't expecting it to be terrible, but I must say I'm plesantly surprised. Not the greatest source in the world, but it's no slouch either...now for a DAC. Report
September 14, 200718 yr comment_50247 Just in case you wanted to see the insides. It was tough to get in...there were TORX screws...fortunately only two of them to get the front panel off and 4 to get the PCB off its mounts. Any more than that and I would have given up. Report

Seriously, if you're going to use the analog outputs for any period of time build even a simple regulated supply (wallwart/TREAD), I think you'll like the results. amb measured the stock switcher, it's terrible. September 14, 200718 yr comment_50274 Yeah that little tiny wall-wart looks like, well a wart on the wall..it's so tiny. I've got parts for a sigma 11 coming so I'll use that. Now to find the dac on this thing and route the I2S signal out for the Opus DAC on its way Report

Now to find the dac on this thing and route the I2S signal out for the Opus DAC on its way I need to figure out a way to squeeze an opus dac and an airport express into my m3 Report
September 14, 200718 yr comment_50277 I need to figure out a way to squeeze an opus dac and an airport express into my m3 I can help you with that....take about 2 weeks: Report
September 14, 200718 yr comment_50278 I'll give the opus as good a listen as I can at the dc meet, compared to my (hopefully by then sigma powered) apogee. If I like it, I really might want to do that Report
September 14, 200718 yr Author comment_50283 Grawk, I wouldn't go internal with the source, but that's just me. Too many trafos in too tight a space, just asking for trouble. And damnit Stephen, why'd you have to take the thing apart? I know what I'll be doing this weekend now. Say goodbye to PCB mounted crappy RCAs. Report

September 15, 200718 yr comment_50598 Having a little trouble getting hooked up to Squeeze Network. There's some discussion out there about this, but nothing seems to help. Anyone else have trouble hooking up to Squeezenetwork? I'm using the Airport card in my iMac as a software basestation. I had to assign the IP and subnet mask, but left the gateway and DNS at zeros. Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Stephen Report
