steel102 Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 do you think they deserve all the praise they get, or is there anything else you prefer for the price?
ayt999 Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I didn't really like the KSC35's when I heard them, but for $15 to $25 they are a good deal I suppose like others have said. for somewhat the same price I may like my ATH-RE3 better (got them for about 2500 yen new)... of course I never had a chance to compare them directly and there's some personal preferences at play here.

ojnihs Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I personally adore my KSC-35's and am currently thinking about selling my K271S's to live with only the Koss for a while. I'm looking into getting a Stax setup, so what a better way to save some money. I think they sound fantastic coupled with the Hornet, but I'm also extremely interested in those ATH-RE3's.
Jam Master J Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 The KSC-75s are definetely amazing for the price. However, I think some people get too carried away with comparing them to high-end phones.
kramer5150 Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 I dont think they are over rated... They are what they are... a good value and IMHO the best sounding headphone under $55. Garrett

Grand Enigma Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 i think they are pretty good, and great in the under $50 market, but i don't think they are the giant killers that many people claim. See above post... they are are giant killers... I like them better then Grados and Sonys and ATHs
darkless Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 See above post... they are are giant killers... I like them better then Grados and Sonys and ATHs Of course, of course... Stay right where you are... *calls up the men in the white suits*
ayt999 Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Says you... they are the best every... they are the main phone in my balanced rig you just want to show off your handiwork since you worked so hard to make it and want a lot of recognition for your work. hey, here's a cookie for you.

scottder Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 I will throw my hat in with the "They are pretty darned good for the price" crowd. I have spent $9.99 worse (I bought mine when Creative was selling them on ebay).
Iron_Dreamer Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Indeed, the price is what makes these headphones more than anything. It's not that they do anything particularly well, more that considering the price, they do little if anything that is particularly sub-par.
NotoriousBIG_PJ Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Everyone should at least hear these headphones. They are the best deal in headphones. Biggie.
darkless Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 Mail me a pair and I'll be happy to give them a whirl.
devwild Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 I have the 50's which are generally considered a notch down (mainly due to fit which I don't have a problem with), and despite all my gear I still get "dang, that sounds good" moments walking around listening to them from my nano. So no, absolutely not overrated, Koss did a great job with those drivers. Perfect for portable use. Edit: but no, they aren't giant killers
Salt Peanuts Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 For the money I paid for them ($20 shipped for two pairs), they sure are great deal. I also can't wait to try out Zach's balanced pair.
Yikes Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 They are the best headphones under $ 29.95, wait make that they are the best headphones under $ 31.65 My set fell apart in about a month so they're not as good a deal as some make them out to be.

What did you do to them? I still have my original set that are about 3 years old and are used just about daily.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y229/grandenigma1/EArecabledKSC35.jpg Gotta love it when the cable costs far more than the actually headphones.
Yikes Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 Huh Why's that a big deal? Just about any cable that is slapped onto a KSC35/75 is going to be more expensive than the phones. Now here is the way it's done. The lime green background really brings out its eyes

They sure do sound nice, though. I look forward to listening to them again.
