jinp6301 Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 I'm cheap and poor so I cant afford to buy music as often as I would like to so Where the hell can I get some classical musizz, son? Particularly looking for Prokofiev's violin concertos
jinp6301 Posted August 26, 2007 Author Report Posted August 26, 2007 really? I couldnt find that much stuff on SK
aerius Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 I use my local libraries. If you're in a larger college or university, you should be able to get access to more music than you can imagine from their libraries & archives. My university had countless thousands of classical LPs stashed away in various places.
jinp6301 Posted August 26, 2007 Author Report Posted August 26, 2007 at my University, music can only be listened to at the University (they pipe the CD to a remote listening station). fucking stupid. they have a similar thing at my school, its so retarted. but yea, Ive been getting my music at the local library when I was back home but in school, it fucking blows. Even the college radio station's (which I just quit from ) library doesnt even have a decent collection of classical music. Damn, I hate that place
aerius Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 at my University, music can only be listened to at the University (they pipe the CD to a remote listening station). fucking stupid. At my university, some of our music was like that too, usually the rarer stuff that's worth money or something. We could sign out most of the stuff they had, but I admit that some of our libraries required a rather large amount of paperwork before they let me take stuff out.
Bill Ward Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Has anyone suggested http://www.classicsonline.com/ ? I've not used the site, but I have heard good things about it.
saint.panda Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Classical is where I usually try to buy the CDs since there are usually so many versions of a recording but I just want one or two specific ones. Library is a good option.
