Augsburger Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 Not that I have any needs but will either of you be able to do optic cuts for Holosun RDs? I am sure other HCers want to know.

VPI Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 I am strictly engraving. Do not have the equipment or insurance coverage to make substantial cuts in a support frame. Today, making Grogu business cards and beer openers. 0c7042b342874a329cb95d4ba5cbec22.mp4 1
VPI Posted January 6 Report Posted January 6 Emergency engrave before Kasia left for the hair salon, where many beers are drank. I am digging these credit card beer openers. 4
VPI Posted January 8 Report Posted January 8 Working on some deeper engraving on an Amazon Package Opener. 3

luvdunhill Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Is there a way to define an area and have a pattern design filled in that area, or are these designs just made for these specific dimensions?

Yes. It is possible in a number of ways. Lightburn does it pretty well and Illustrator does it even more exacterer. 1

swt61 Posted January 15 Author Report Posted January 15 I made custom handrails for my current work site project. This morning I finished up the upstairs two rails in Walnut. Am now working on the same layout downstairs, in White Oak. And have some metal rails coming later today, that will get capped in the same Walnut and White Oak. Those pics to come later. Last week I was working on the master suite ceiling in White Oak tung and groove. Made more interesting because the architect specked that the trim would be flush with the tongue and groove. 10
swt61 Posted January 15 Author Report Posted January 15 You can't see from these pics, but the handrails have a pitched top. Kind of like a 4/12 roof.

Voltron Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 The handrails look great. Are you going to use the Rubio on them?
swt61 Posted January 16 Author Report Posted January 16 I'd like to, but the customers picked out a Mahogany stain? Luckily it doesn't change the look of the Walnut much. Just darkens it a bit. It'll get a water based clear poly on top of that. I would have gone with Rubio mono-coat in Walnut.
swt61 Posted January 16 Author Report Posted January 16 They're trying to match the finish on the nearby Walnut kitchen cabinets, and thought that was the closest match. It really was close.
VPI Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 So how did you do the tops of the rails some kind of Moulder, huge router bit or a crazy cut on a table saw?
swt61 Posted January 17 Author Report Posted January 17 I just set the table saw to the desired angle and ran it through, turned it over and ran it through on the opposing side. I did have a second set of hands attached to Al.
